The Gramercy Apartments 650 West North Street, Raleigh, NC 27603

"I lived here for a year. The apartment building itself is nice enough, they keep the public area very nice. The mailroom and delivery pick up lockers are great. However, it’s extremely hard to get in touch with someone if you have an issue with your apartment. My year living here was mixed with cars being broken into (IN the apt parking garage), a sprinkler system going off which flooded half my floor, and a shooting at the pool (I was one of the people there) which was totally blown under the rug by the management. We didn’t get hurt (physically), but because it was only 2 of us and then the 2 affected apartments in the courtyard, they were able to just push the whole thing aside. Again, overall, it’s not a bad city spot, but expect the bare minimum for your personal living or safety."

"I had a horrible time trying to rent here. Filled out an online form but no one got back to me. When I called, I was told that they didn't receive anything. We scheduled a virtual tour for the next day so I waited for the FaceTime for several hours but no one called. I called back the same day multiple times but no one answered. I was frustrated but still interested so I drove from Virginia to Raleigh. I reached the property around 3:55pm and was turned away for an in person tour by the leasing consultant, Micah Clegg I believe, citing a company policy to not do tours past 4. I mentioned that I waited for the virtual tour call and was told that they were too busy with move-ins so they couldn't call me. No one had the courtesy to let me know and offer to reschedule, or at least help me out with a tour on that day given that I drove from another state just to view the property since the scheduled virtual tour didn't happen. I was told that I'd be contacted the next day for a virtual tour. After all of this, I shamelessly waited hoping for a call. Nothing on that day and it's been several days since. The experience with The Gramercy was in stark contrast to other properties nearby such as 712 Tucker, 927 West Morgan, and The Lincoln. All of them were very responsive, and went over and beyond to help me find a place. Needless to say, I'm no longer interested in leasing at The Gramercy but I hope someone from the management reads this and does a better job."

"I stayed a year here and had a great time. Clean, no bugs, few maintenance problems. The front staff, Micah and Jacqueline, were the most 'on it' front desk staff I've had the pleasure of working with. The maintenance and housekeeping were helpful and on it too. Obviously the noise is an issue - it isn't just the nightlife, but the motorcyclists, political activists with megaphones, and trains. If you are a light sleeper, you shouldn't discount this. Still, I enjoyed my time here and would recommend for those who want an affordable place close to downtown."

"The Gramercy was an awesome place to live while I was in Raleigh. The complex is very nice and the office staff is super friendly. Jackie and Micah are awesome! The location and community are great and if I return to Raleigh I would absolutely choose the Gramercy to live at again!"

"The Gramercy Apartments are such an ideal place to live in Raleigh. I've lived here for about one year and have been consistently impressed with the staff, grounds, and neighborhood. The staff are so accommodating and friendly - they really do go out of their way to make you feel at home and make sure all of your needs are addressed. The grounds are well-kept and beautiful. My unit looks out over the pool and I never take my small deck for granted. It's such a nice spot for morning coffee or early evening dinner. The neighborhood is fun, safe, and walkable. There's plenty of parking available for visitors and certainly no shortage of places to visit or things to do close by. I've moved a lot over the last few years and have lived in a lot of apartments & the Gram is far and away my favorite. 10/10 recommend!"
