"My roommates and I thoroughly enjoyed our year at 403 West. The maintenance team was very attentive to our requests, the front office staff was always helpful, and the neighborhood was cozy. We did have a few instances of roaches in the apartment and the neighbors in our complex were not clean. Fortunately, each of these things was well attended by the staff. I think things could be improved with regards to the bugs but overall you’ll find that the staff works quick to please. Shout out to Bri for always being so helpful. If you have the pleasure of working with her, you’ll quickly find that she is the best. She was so friendly, thorough, and accommodating."
"Look for other apartments before thinking about living here. To begin, read their contract carefully. I’ve spent thousands repairing my car in the past year due to negligence of the construction workers they hired. Office says they can’t do anything because we signed a contract accepting any damages to our property or vehicles. Regarding any matter, my emails were always ignored. Every inch of this complex is dirty except around front where the leasing office is. When we moved in, oven looks as if it was set on fire and we hadn’t been able to use it the past year. Took us months to get rid of the roaches in our apartment. I have never felt safe walking up when I come home late after work and school. High crime area, neighbors blast music, and smoke everyday which I could smell through the walls of our apartment. Honestly a waste of money and one of the worst years of my life."
"The unit itself was wonderful, and my room mate and I enjoyed our stay here for the most part. However, we became increasingly disappointed and agitated with Graystar and their management team here as our stay went on. For starters, the maintenance team was sub-par at best (except for Kevin, he was absolutely phenomenal and took our concerns very seriously) and when we had a maintenance emergency after move in, we were told that it could wait until morning (our washer flooded our laundry room). When maintenance finally decided to come out, it took MULTIPLE visits, incorrect information and THREE DAYS before we finally received a new washer and dryer unit. Secondly, our neighbors were not the kindest of people, left nasty notes at our door, and overall made me and my room mate increasingly uncomfortable in our home. I was told that this would be taken care of, but it seemed that there was no action taken. I had also filed multiple noise complaints (parties lasting until 4am), and there was no action taken until I had police involvement 4 separate times. The valet trash company was also completely unpredictable and overall not very great either. Their schedule was that the would not pick up trash on Friday and Saturday, but there were multiple times where our trash was not picked up until Monday or Tuesday. It is completely understandable that they didn't show up on holidays, and we were warned ahead of time that they would not pick up on those days. However, they would just randomly not show up. We would also receive written notices that we were in violation of their guidelines, however we were not. We were allowed to place two broken down boxes outside for them to take, but then would receive notices that that was against their rules sometimes, and others we wouldn't. If our trash bag fell off the trash can, we would receive a written notice and they wouldn't take it. Finally, we have had an ongoing issue with our renters insurance that is still being dealt with. We were told that there was no proof of insurance on our account, we fixed that, and then we were told that according to the lease, the company had to be added as an "interested party." We were also told that the fee would be waived once the issue was resolved. For one, no where on the lease does it state that they must be added as an interested party. For two, we are still being charged for an issue that shouldn't even be an issue. There were multiple instances where we had different issues, and they were just waived to the side. Terry, Bri and someone else that I cannot remember his name were the only truly helpful people that worked there. Ashley was impossible to get in contact with, unresponsive, and overall extremely unhelpful. Like I said, the unit was lovely, the amenities were overall nice (dog parks were not well maintained, but that was more of a community issue than a company issue) and the new renovations are definitely lovely, but the company made our stay miserable. TLDR; unit was good, management team is not, not exactly worth the price that you're paying."
"I wouldn’t recommend living here at ALL. Especially not for the price, The staff is very unprofessional they’re just nice to get you in. The only thing good about these apartments is the amenities. They charge for trash pick up and most days they never come to my floor. Half my outlets In my unit never worked. My second bedroom closet door was broken upon move in. My first bedroom shower door was installed backwards so the water floods the bathroom after every shower. My lights always go out in the living room and kitchen and maintenance referred me to keep switching the breaker switch. My A/C blew out hot air but they finally replaced me with a new one in a timely matter I can say. Also, throughout the halls there is always so much trash in the breeze ways it’s like it never gets cleaned. The maintenance supervisor is extremely rude and can be disrespectful out his mouth. You can never ask him a question without a smart response being given. They also have an infestation of fruit flies/gnats in every apartment. The dog park is full with poop but their is never any doggy bags in the park. Once they change the staff I feel as though the complex will get better overtime but right now it’s a mess. I left voluntarily but I will be taking legal matters because the whole living situation was very traumatic."
"I loved living at Vie at Raleigh, the community is spacious and you don’t feel like your crammed in. There are a lot of great views and ample parking for residents. It’s kind of like a small city because of how big it is, so there’s always work being done to improve the community. The community is so large that every experience is different and highly encourage those new to the city to try it out even if for a single leasing term. It’s great location for the price and really helps you get adjusted to the city and surrounding towns."
