"I attended a Flight Instructor Refresher Seminar at the Midtown Double Tree on Saturday and Sunday January the 20 &21st 2024. Since I needed to be there early Saturday morning and would leave Sunday I reserved a room for two nights, Friday and Saturday. I checked in to my room at around 1 am Saturday morning. Staff was very nice and helpful, room was nice and clean so no problem there. My complaint is I was there for two nights but my card was charged for three nights. A $242.26 charge which would be correct for the two nights but then there is an additional charge of $141.13 . There is also a third charge of $41.00 for dinner Saturday night which I think is way over priced. I know mistakes happen but my real problem is I can't seem to get the problem resolved. I called the hotel, six times before I finally got someone to answer the phone. When I finally got to talk to someone at the hotel they referred me to another number where I spoke to someone who was very nice on the phone but spoke very broken English with a Spanish accent. After a long struggle with the broken English I finally got her to understand the nature of my problem. She apologized for the mistake and told me she would check into it and refund my money back to my card. It has been two weeks and my money has still not been put back on my card. I thought the hotel was nice enough for most normal people so I'm not going to say do not stay there but I do recommend this: Only pay in cash, do not give them access to your debit or credit card and go out for dinner. Breakfast was actually pretty good. Joel Lineberger"
"During check in, there was only one person working and there was a long line. When I finally got to desk to get my key, because my husband had already checked in online, she did not give me waters and cookies, which is what Doubletree is famous for. I told her my husband is highest level in Hilton so I want my cookies. After I told her that, she gave them to me. I thought everyone who checked in, no matter their Hilton status, received cookies. Went to bar/restaurant for dinner. Service was good but good terrible. Very expensive but what are you going to do? If you don't know area or don't have access to vehicle, not much choice. Food is terrible. Just figure it out and go anywhere else. Food is extremely expensive and it's very bad. I've noticed management only responds to nice, feel good, unicorn and rainbow reviews so I imagine they won't respond to why they charge insane prices for awful food in their restaurant. Good luck staying here. You're on your own...."
"Abir in the Kitchen is wonderful. The food was great and she was very kind and helpful. For an older hotel it is very comfortable, the only thing I can say the water needs to be a little hotter. It set at 100-105 In the shower and 120 at the sink (which is normal) besides that it’s a great hotel! I’ve stayed here twice in the last year and the staff is nice as well."
"Not the greatest. Definitely the least hospitable check-in I’ve ever experienced. The woman said maybe 3 words. There was no greeting, and certainly no cookie. She just took my credit card and handed me a room key. Room was out of body wash, conditioner, and I could hear every word from the people in the room next to me. There was no clock in the room so I ordered a wake up call for 7am. That call never came. Oh well."
"Not the worst place I have ever stayed but I definitely would not book again. Could hear every single word the family in the adjoining room said. You could actually see the light from their room under the door. I felt like we were staying in the same room. Staff was not really rude but they would just stare awkwardly. No hellos or anything just staring. The breakfast is $15 but they will not let you pay cash or card. You have to charge the room. That’s fine unless someone else paid for your room or it is being reimbursed. So basically we couldn’t purchase anything. Thankfully there is a Dunkin in walking distance. That was the only positive besides the fact that the rooms didn’t have carpet and were generally clean."
