"I was escorted out by the police for asking for a change of bed clothes. The clerk called me a B and C u n t, and made fun of me for being shocked by her behavior. I couldn’t believe I was kicked out of my 2 week pre paid hotel. DON’T STAY HERE"
"The hotel itself is not that bad. Other than being very dated and a little sketchy. The management of this hotel is awful. The lack any basic customer service skills. They scam people with the $100 deposit. Making up false claims after you check out. I tried to rectify the situation after I got the credit card statements. The manager basically called me a liar, refused to give me her name and hung up on me. These hotels have to do better. It’s not about the money, it’s the principle."
"Comfort Inn Suites- 4721 Market St Wilmington, NC (Downtown Wilmington) ROACHES | NO HOT WATER | UNPROFESSIONAL |. FILTHY My family and I decide to stay at this hotel and was in town for the Marine Corp 248th Ball. A major celebration for my husband who is active duty. This hotel was VERY disgusting. Within two hours we saw several roaches. One also crawled on my sons’s neck. There wasn’t any hot water at the sink nor shower. I ran the water on both for several minutes awaiting hot water. I had to wash up at the sink for the ball. This was very disturbing. Our family checked out immediately after the ball and drove back home over an hour. I spoke to the lady at the desk and mentioned about the hot water and roach infestation and she only said “okay” this lets me know they hear this on the normal basis. She didn’t apologize nor acted shocked about this. The room decor is outdated and blotch paint on the wall. They could’ve at least painted it one color to make the appearance look suitable. NO ONE Deserves this type of service. I would give this place negative points if I could. Sad my husband had to drive our family back home after his Marine Corp Ball. I wouldn’t stay here again even if they offered a free month of staying at their hotel."
"I would give negative stars if I was able to. I have stayed and still stay at many, many choice hotels. I would never stay at this location again. When we first got there, the room was already paid for. Lycrema (maybe misspelled, forgive me if so) let me know she needed to put a hold on my card for $100, in case of incidentals. I normally, don’t have to do this. I was ok with it, and allowed her to do so. At this point I have paid $330 for the room $100 for the incidentals. I get to the second floor, where I will be staying and there was a strong smell of a chemical air freshener. Maybe, trying to cover other odors. The smell was so strong it made my son nauseated and made me have a headache. It was bad. It is 12 noon when we get to our room (221) I put drinks In the mini fridge and turn the air way down. It was crazy hot in there. 4 pm, I go down to the front desk. I tell her the ac nor the fridge is working. The Ac was set at 68 and the fridge was set on as cold as it would go. She allowed me to change rooms. I change to (218) when I get to this room, I notice toilet paper is in the toilet. So I flushed it. When I did, water went everywhere. I run back downstairs and let her know that maintenance needs to have a look and that I put down all of my towels that were in the room. I told her no one had yet used the restroom, I flushed it because there was a piece of toilet paper in the toilet. She tells me maintenance is not there, and she can could cancel my room. She has no availability. There was availability when I looked online. However, if she were to cancel my room the money may not be placed back on to my card for 5 business days. She gives me a handful of pool towels, for me to clean the water. She also hands me bath towels, as I have now used mine. She hands me a trash bags to place the towels in after I clean it, and hands me a plunger. So, I clean the mess, and place the towels in the trash bag. We tried to plunge the toilet but everytime we flushed it overflowed. We had to use the downstairs lobby bathroom for the duration of our stay. I might also add the bathroom was so small, they cut part of door out to fit around the toilet. Otherwise, the bathroom door wouldn’t close. They have literally cut a chunk out of the door to fit with the toilet. When it was time to go to sleep, I pulled out the couch. When I took the cushions off of the couch there was active mold growing on the pull out bed. I check my bank account before checking out. There is how a new charge of $150. I go to the front desk and asked what this charge is for. I was told, “to make sure you have money in your account” I asked why, and why would they be concerned with money in my account? I had already paid for the room plus $100 incidentals. I was told it’s another hood and it would be placed back to my account. I didn’t and still don’t understand the second hold on my account. When I went to check out. I handed Lycrema (I didn’t know her name at the time) my room key cards. I told her of the situation, being moved for air and refrigerator issues. Once moved having to use the lobby bathroom and active mold. Plus, the second hold on my account. I asked her if the hotel would be willing to give me half of my money back. I told her I would eat half but for all of my inconveniences could she allow me half back. She told me no. I asked if she would give choice points. She shook her head no and said there is nothing I can do. I asked her name, and she took my key cards and slammed them on the desk in front of her and said, “I do not feel comfortable giving my name” I explained that I wasn’t being rude. She said, “no ma’am. I do not think you are being rude. I just don’t want to give my name because my direct manager is not here. “ I then called guest relations, who did help resolve the issue. The next day I received an email from Chanda Patel and the Gm, Beth Bratz stating they would no longer be able to rent to me. I did reply to the email, because why would I want to stay there ever again."
"It was the best of stays. It was the worst of stays. BEST comfortable clean beds, clean bathroom and high H2O pressure, room had desk, sink, and fridge that kept things cold, breakfast buffet generous and quickly replenished and cleaned. OKAY service at desk, pool not quite clear, inn was behind a construction site, beds listed as queen but felt full, suite slept 6 but little floor space. WORST- pervasive smell in couch and air and on carpet near bathroom -- water shot out of tub/shower. Sleeping was an effort due to smell. I was told this site will be renovated. Still enjoy Clarion Hotels for overall value."
