"I've stayed here plenty of times and only had an issue one time, and they fixed it immediately! I've been using mountain shadows for over the last 10 years. I got a cabin there when I got married. Highly recommend."
"Made reservations for vacation in Gatlinburg. Checked into our so called "mountin view resort" in the evening. First thing I noticed was the front porch covered in leaves from last year. The lovely view of the overgrown weeds outside. Get inside to an odor of being closed up for extended length of time. Then we got the view of lovely stained out dated filthy rugs. We were even greeted with a broom and a pile of I think pet hair when going out to the dirty outdated furniture on rear porch. Filthy, dirty to the point of not wanting to sit anywhere. What a view, the woods and the neighbors chickens running around. Oh yeah, let me mention the lovely fire pit, away from the cabin in the middle of overgrown weeds. Beautiful view. I only spent over five hundred dollars for this lovely mountin resort. Spend your money elsewhere, definitely not with MOUNTAIN SHADOW RESORTS AND RENTALS!!! You will be disappointed if you do!!!"
"My fiance rented us a cabin in Gatlinburg with this company. It looked cute at first but then we noticed right when we opened the door that it wasn't clean. Old leaves on the back screened in porch along with a broom with hair and stuff hanging off of it. The shower didn't work. It was leaking when we arrived. Called the place the next day and they had a man come out. He didn't fix it at all. The water trickled out so needless to say we couldn't shower for 2 days. The hot tub was so hot and when you tried to turn it down, it would go right back up. Never again will we rent from this company."
"Of course that's not my actual name. My rental was indeed with Mountain Shadows, and according to Trip Advisor, you are still the rental agency for the specific cabin I stayed in. Since you want to try to brush off my review as invalid, I went ahead and pulled what I wrote on TA. Our stay with you was the worst overnight experience of my life. The description of the property was not accurate, the cabin was not cleaned, the fire place did not work, the hot tub water was cloudy and yellow, a pan was stuck to something with fur on it under the sink (it appeared that someone killed a mouse? and left it there). When I attempted, very politely, to discuss it with the rental company (to make sure they were aware that the website needed corrected and cleaning staff was not upkeeping properly), it went well initially with the woman in the office, but there was a man there that only heard half the discussion, and started yelling at me. We were traveling from Florida to Pennsylvania, and were planning to use the few days in the cabin to stay in and relax. The cabin was so awful that we only slept there. We travel through there often, and won't be renting from this company again."
"We stayed two nights in "Birds Eye View" cabin the night before and the night of our wedding. First of all, I can't see anything from either top or bottom deck because the trees were so tall, so they need to change the name. Here's the good: location, indoor jacuzzi was clean. That's the end of the list. The outdoor hot tub smelled very strongly of chlorine, the top was difficult to get back on without getting back in, and it must be too heavy for the deck because it constantly spilled water over the far side but had a couple inches of air on the other. The shower must also be too heavy for the foundation because it's "settled" about 1.5" away from where it was grouted against the ceiling. Must be the added weight from all the mildew. The Jacuzzi had also settled about 3/4" from where it was originally installed. The grout on the floor tile was just plain missing and several ceramic (sharp) tiles were broken. But don't worry, there's a (broken) clay pot covering one of the broken/missing tiles. The kitchen floor was soft in spots from obvious water damage that wasn't fixed. I found a knot of hair in the silverware drawer. We found bees on the floor every time we came back to the cabin, apparently all the cobwebs missed them. The TV was blank more often than working. The couch was hard somehow. At least the guy at the office was charming with his chilli cheese Fritos stuck to his chin... That was sarcasm, he was pretty gruff and struggled for breath without his Fritos. Mountain Shadows? More like Mountain Shitholes. You couldn't pay me enough to stay here again. I think Chapel at the Park (5 stars for them) needs to find a new place to house their guests."
