"We just moved in to Spence Crossing Apartaments. The leasing process went so smoothly and seamless, specifically because of the helping from leasing office ladies. Our apartment itself was prestine and all the appliances were working great! I really recommend Spence Crossing as a home!"
"I lived here for 1.5 years. Couldn't speak more highly of the staff, grounds, and the apartment design. Very spacious 2bed/2bath and well constructed. I would always get compliments from friends and family regarding the layout of the apartment. I found the walls to be thick enough as our neighbor had 2 dogs and I never once heard them except when they literally opened up their front door to walk the dogs. We could, on occasion, hear the tenants above us during the day, but well within my tolerance and they were the only tenants I could hear. It was easy to forget that you were sharing walls with other people. When we did have maintenance issues, the maintenance staff was prompt, friendly, and did a good job. The grounds were kept in excellent condition all the times. The leasing agents, Monica and Alexis, went above and beyond and were extremely friendly whenever I had any questions or issues (thank you!!). I moved out for a job re-location, but otherwise would still be here without question. My only complaint is the pool restrictions are a little much. The pool is only open during the summer and you are only allowed to go in while a lifeguard is present. While I was there, there was lifeguard staffing issues, so the pool was open probably half the time it should've been. To give the benefit of doubt, this could be a Virginia Beach thing--I'm not sure--I never looked into it too much as I prefer to go to the beach anyways if I want to swim and pool usage didn't matter much to me. On the few occasions I did want to go to the pool, however, we had to plan ahead because of the restricted hours--which didn't seem like something I should have to do at a place I live at. On a side note, the traffic light pattern at Princess Anne and Independence is unrelenting and completely unforgiving. While this is really my own character flaw, I am not a person to be early to anything and leave with just enough time to make it, so this intersection was a point of constant frustration for me. There is obviously nothing Spence can do about this and a City problem, but something to note and as a pro-tip, turn left out of Spence and circumvent that light/intersection!! Overall, my time at Spence was phenomenal and they definitely left the bar very high for the next apartment I move into. The overall atmosphere there was very happy. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish and couldn't recommend enough. -John"
"I’m one the contractors that help build the complex. Was one of the first occupants in building 206. The apartment over all is extremely spacious. Staff was always polite. We got charged a amount I thought was a little high for what Is builder grade everything. Meaning the quality could be better and this was when rent for a 3 bedroom was 1300. When I left it was raised to 1500. Don’t know what it is now but I can imagine it’s over 2000. Anyways for the amount charged they should have video monitoring of parking lots. I had my motorcycle stolen from right in front of my apartment and the amount of money I know flows through this place they should have better enforcement of looking Out for residential property. It’s not the staff fault my bike was stolen. The water pressure was ok. I was on the second floor and it could of been better. Again that’s something you’ll have to deal with considering the amount of people tapped into the small main waterline and size of service ran to the building. Amenities were nice. Over all it’s just another builder grade apartment complex with cheap paint, spacious living quarters great landscaping. It’s a outward aesthetically pleasing wrapped average apartment. It’s more of a title then experience. So it looks amazing to anyone who doesn’t live their but it’s just another you live close to the interstate and beach that’s why we charge you the arm and leg. It’s all location and some quality."
"We had the pleasure of cleaning a unit in these luxury apartments here a few weeks ago as seen in the pictures; very nice apartment/condos! The hallways are very wide, landscapes lush and everything from the parking lot to door knobs are maintained."
"I rented a 2 BR/2 BA for a year and loved everything about my apartment. Beautiful open floor plan, an incredible amount of space, lots of storage, dog friendly, awesome amenities with the grills, pool and clubhouse, stellar management staff, and fantastic location. We only ever had one issue and maintenance fixed it so quickly and professionally. The only reason we are leaving is because we bought our first home. I’ve lived in enough rental properties in the 757 and toured enough complexes to say with confidence that this one is one of the best in the area. In response to some of the negative reviews, I have to say that Courtney and Taylor are fantastic! They’ve always been so friendly and professional and I felt like they were my advocates. As for the noise, yes...you are going to hear your neighbors from time-to-time. I’ve never been in an apartment where this wasn’t the case. But for the most part, I didn’t hear my neighbors and I had a child below me, above me, and a dog in the unit next to me. If a few instances of toddlers running upstairs are going to bother you, I would suggest a third floor unit. But I would not let the reviews complaining about the noise deter anyone from checking this place out."
