"The room was clean and there was no carpet on the floor, which is a huge plus. The location can't be beat. BUT - the pillows were disgusting - they smelled like thousands of unwashed heads - I think it was the pillow itself more than the pillowcase. The bedding was threadbare and creepy. This was a pet friendly room and maybe that's how it goes, but I got no sleep because of the repulsive smelling pillows. I wouldn't go there again for that reason."
"Stay away from this hotel. I stayed here last year and had a good stay but this year was the complete opposite. 1st) I called the local number to make the reservation, somehow I was transferred to a 3rd party site without my knowledge. They slapped on an administrative fee for $15.99 that I never agreed to and hit me for over $60 in taxes and FEES that they REFUSE to disclose. Forget about trying to get an invoice from them, the 3rd party won't give it to you, nor does the hotel give it out. 2) The fitness center is still out of service from last year, 3) their breakfast which was really nice last year is a sad joke. 4) The entire hotel reeks of pot. Now a little is not an issue, but it reeked enough to make me nauseous at times, 5) My room had virtually no furniture, 2 small draws close to the ground, a heater that was noisy as heck and a refrigerator that also was loud as heck. 6) Parking is no longer free although the women compped me at check-in when I started complaining about the deception. I chose this hotel cause I had a great experience last year but now looking at other current reviews I see I'm nor alone. Oh and corporate refused to deal with me, they transferred me to their 3rd party outsource. My advice to ya'll, stay far away from here, too many hotels in the area that appreciate your business and don't play these games, especially in the off season."
"Called the 1(800) # to verify the room rate & inquired as to a pet deposit & was advised that there was not a deposit for service animals. Booked the room through a 3rd party site & received confirmation. Traveled from NC to VB & walked to the desk where I met Cheryl who I remembered from my last stay over 6 months ago. Cheryl is an asset to this company! No nonsense, efficient & professional. Only wish she had some. I was almost charged close to 16 bucks for parking when it's free to park in the garages or ANY parking space at the oceanfront for free this time of year .....of course Cheryl can't tell the customers that but it is a very shady cash grab that had to of recently been implemented. I informed as many people checking in not to pay & informed them that they could park on the street free.....was no mention of parking fees when I called or was confirmed. Got to my room 304...was open being propped by the latch....put my dog in & closed the door ....went to get my bag from the car & my key card didn't work to enter the building or my room ....got another card after waiting for others to check in ...went back ....door won't open ...went back to desk ...waited for another to check in and then was accompanied by Cheryl who couldn't open the door with her keys & had to attempt to use a long rod to try to open it from the inside while fishing from under the door. Cheryl tried her best and became exhausted. After sometime I was able to open the door but the lock still did not work. I was told that maintenance would be there in the morning and that if I had to leave just take my stuff with me. I then received a call 30 (midnight almost) min later and was told that I needed to come pay a pet deposit. The shower was lined with black mold & the hallways smelled fiercely of marijuana."
"I stayed here with my dog. Upon entry everything looks great but in the details you see how things are not maintained. The doors were scuffed and the hallways dark. There was a dirty broom kept next to the ice machine and inside my room had a strange spill in the corner. It's one of those places where you don't trust to use the shower. But because I had my dog, there is little choice in hotels. I did enjoy the location. One block off the boardwalk and across from the whole foods. You also have to pay for parking here. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again."
"The best thing about the hotel is the location. Only a couple blocks from the beach and within walking distance to shops/restaurants. A couple bigger complaints is that parking is not included in the price when you book a room. That was an extra $15/day which isn't awful but if I'm staying there parking shouldn't be an additional fee. The other is that you can not open the window in your room. I brought my 2 dogs with and always did my best to dry them off but wet dog smell will linger. So, by the end of the week there was a noticeable smell. Only one person ever seemed to be working the front counter and because of that they seemed to hurry me along. Overall, I just wouldn't recommend."
