Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Roanoke Salem

"The absolute worst customer service of any Mariott product I have ever visited. After driving four hours I wait at an empty front desk 15 minutes while various employees walk in and out of the back room without acknowledging me. I had to call the hotel to get someone to finally come to the front desk (wearing a t-shirt, sweats and no shoes). The hotel was empty but was told i couldnt check in till 3pm. Came back at 3:30pm and my room still wasnt ready and was asked if i wanted a room on the second floor, to which I agreed. I never had to provide an ID or swipe my cc. All the lights and television in the lobby were shut off and after checking in never saw another person at the desk till the next day. Cleanliness was below average and had I needed to stay over one night I would have found a different hotel."

"Really easy on/off, it's tucked in behind other hotels. It's got plenty of outdoor and wooded areas to take the pup for a walk. A really small and hot pool is an interesting mix of hot tub and pool. Nice and clean through and through."

"Very comfortable bed, shower had high water pressure. Only possible issue was we had requested near the elevator but were at the end of the hall. I say possible because it was a last minute request. Breakfast was nice."

"We stayed end of July. Right off the highway, the high volume of noise is not good. Nicely decorated King room. Large, powerful shower. Soft towels. Guest service on check-in was hectic but polite. She wasn't able to apply my Bonvoy # after several attempts. I told her I would confirm it when I got to my room. I did, and I called her with the same number, which magically worked. The mattress was comfortable."
