Super 8 by Wyndham Salem VA

"Had a room booked on 12/27/2023.Checked in and was given room 307,my wife and I carried our bags up to the room.Opened the door and beds were not made,tv was on and room was dirty.Went back down to front desk,it took 10 to 12 minutes before a man finally helped us.He said he could give us a room on the 1st or 2nd floor for an up-charge.I told him to cancel our reservation that we would go some where else.He assured me we would not be charged,we were!! I just opened a dispute with my credit card over this charge.Do not book a room here!!!!!!"

"NEVER STAY HERE! I booked here for my trip back home after spending the holidays with family. I came around 3am after already paying for my room online (priceline) i then get greeted by the rude guy at the counter demanding a $100 deposit when NO other super 8 i have ever stayed at wants a deposit! And i didn't have the deposit and priceline doesn't refund so all i had was ale money in my account and the guy was like "well i take that then" completely rude didn't want to help me out or try to make the situation better. I then get to my room, holes in the walls, the phone had no information on it and wouldn't even connect to the lobby, the bathtub and bathroom were completely and utterly disgusting i wouldn't even let my animals bath there! The ceiling was as also falling down and showed wires and everything, It was the most disgusting unpleasant experience of my life. Whole hotel smells like smoke and weed. I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN AND I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT TO EVEN MY ENEMYS. I’m"

"I booked a room for two nights here, and I was satisfied far as space of the room wise and it was peace and quiet for throughout my whole stay. But I came across an issue, I went to sleep and I woke up with bed bug bites on me. I notified the staff and this guy said “that there are no bed bugs in the rooms” and i said “ I wasn’t trying to be complicated about it , and I would be glad to change my room” but that never happened. I wouldn’t mind staying again but the bed bugs have to go ."

"I stopped In unexpectedly as I was too tired to keep on driving. Although the room is very dated it was clean & bug free. It’s indoor hallways which makes me feel safer & the front desk lady was nice! The only negative I have to say was there are no charging ports on the lamp/clock for your phone cord."

"After booking through an external site, I had to pay a $100 deposit at check in. Was not made aware of that. At check out was told the deposit would be returned, verified by receipt. Still was charged the $100, transaction was completed. Hotel maintains they did not charge my card, but they did. Dispute has been filed."
