"RUN!!! I lived at Chase apartments for 3 years. Upon moving in, the carpet turned my socks pitch brown. Disgusting. Not only that, the landlord Tammy harassed me for my emotional support dog. Thankfully, I used student legal services to keep Tammy in her place. I also printed out the law and highlighted that I indeed was allowed to keep my support animal. Tammy was extremely unprofessional and incompetent. I would never recommend renting from this landlord. Oh, and good luck receiving your deposit. I had to threaten Tammy with student legal services for her to give me a portion of my deposit back. Please find another apartment and save yourself the headache!!!!"
"I would highly recommend renting through Tera! I have had friends that rented through Tera for 3 years (2015-2018), and hearing about their great experience, as well as the amazing condition of the units, it was an easy decision to rent through them for the year (2018-2019). I’m a young professional, and the Avery Apartments were a perfect fit for me. The apartment was in incredible shape when I moved in, and if there were any issues, Homer was either in touch about fixing it or at the unit within a few hours. The service is great, everyone that helps goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. As far as the negative reviews on security deposits, service, and just overall attitude, I want to say that is not the case. Aside from the expected carpet cleaning fee, which I knew about prior to even signing my lease, I received my full deposit back. They are very reasonable, and very easy to get along with. My questions were ALWAYS answered with a friendly and helpful response. If you are considerate and courteous, do not hesitate to rent through Tera!"
"I was pleased when I first moved in. I lived here for two years and did not really experience any issues until my lease was coming to an end. Apparently I had missed a rent payment from a year and half prior when I had traveled out of the country. I never received a late notice or anything saying I had missed one. Obviously, that is my responsibility but it purely just an oversight of my behalf. I tried calling management to get clarification as to where I had missed, to compare to my records. My calls were ignored. They will only communicate via text message and that's only when they need something from you, not when you need them. When I tried to rectify the issue I paid two months of rent at once (plus late fees) and explicitly asked if I was good to go. This was on the day I moved out. Now, several months later (now that I'm living in a completely different city) they have decided to keep my security deposit ($650) plus they want and additional $432 for "cleaning fee." Even though my apartment was spotless and the building manager, Homer, said it was good when I moved out. They claim it's for repainting but the manager had told me that day that they had not repainted since the payments were built. Clearly I was not pleased about the additional "fees" and wanted clarification from the landlord, Tammy, as I was sending her copies of cleared checks to prove I had paid. I told her this was the most unprofessional experience I had ever had and that I would certainly not recommend her business. She devolved into calling me names. She claimed that she did not need to answer my calls or texts because it was my responsibility to know. At this point I certainly have overpaid, but I'd pay almost anything to be done with them. They certainly fit the bill of the terrible landlords for which Morgantown has come to be known. All I can said is beware and good riddance!"
