"We were at a wedding and had too far to drive home. This motel has been around for a long time. It was clean and checking in easily done. Staff was friendly."

"Mr McVicker is well kind. He doesn't like any drama. Check in by 3. After that, well, you get what you get... Rooms are huge! Old style, comfortable beds. Awesome shower in #10. Safe ! No loud parties. No hang abouts. Most rooms are rented to residents. They are wonderful, kind, helpful people. I stayed there for 7 weeks, transitioning from Florida to Pennsylvania. This is a good place to spend the night. Just be aware that it's a colorful atmosphere. Mr McVicker is a little different. But he is fair and will help anyone. It is not recommended for kids. Wifi is spotty. Excellent stop point to many attractions."

"A lovely old-school mom-and-pop motel, very convenient for those going to the racetrack or Mountain Playhouse. Room was very clean, but mattresses were old and springy and the shower drain clogged easily."

"The shirtless man who was "working" at the front desk became irate when we asked to see the room prior to check in. His colorful vocabulary included the F and N words. I felt unsafe and decided not to bother looking at the room. Other members of the family stayed there, but were disgusted by the rooms, at least one slept on trash bags to avoid touching the bed. Do not go here!"
