"I will not be staying here again. Trash all over the front of the hotel. The room was dirty. Big holes in the curtains. I had to kill a large insect crawling across the floor toward the bed. People were fighting outside my window after midnight, very loud, and for a long time. The next morning (three hours before checkout time) housekeeping tried to walk into my room without even knocking. Nothing like walking out of the shower in your underwear and having the door to your room suddenly slam open against the hotel lock out of the blue. The guy didn't even close the door, he just walked away. So I called the front desk to complain... then the same guy came back and tried walking in unannounced AGAIN about an hour later! I don't like leaving negative reviews, but it would be wrong of me not to in this case. This was my first time staying at this location, and I was extremely disappointed"
"I just want to share that if you are not careful you might get double charged. I paid for a room with my card last night. By the morning it shows that the card was charged. As I go to check in the person at the counter said I wasn't charged but it was a card used to reserve the room. I pulled up my bank statement directly from my phone and he said he's been doing this for a long time and it was just used to reserve the room. My bank has fraud detection, so when I go to check in he tries to charge my card a second time. I had to end up calling IHG to file a compliant and to request a refund because then I had to use another card. Please be careful when booking. After calling IHG they said I will receive a refund for one of the payments. If the GM reads this I would really like to speak with you."
"I was completely surprised at how excellent the service was at this small airport hotel. From Sandy the maid to Ray who managed the breakfast buffet, and Henry at the front desk, every person that I encountered managed to greet me, assist me or otherwise check in with me to make sure everything was okay. And they did it in a sincere fashion, just trying to be helpful. Great staff! The back side of this hotel opens out to the river bank and some old piers, a fantastic view of the Commodore Barry bridge, and the island. Breakfast was excellent β eggs, sausages, breads, cereal + milk, yoghurt, fruit & juice bar β and plentiful. There was a minor stale smell when I went into my room, but that was no longer noticeable within 1 minute of being there. A small but functional weight room, and vending machine for the basics completes the picture. All in all, a solid hotel with a great location & excellent service."
"Older property. Rooms are clean, but spartan. Room has a mini-fridge and microwave in case you bring foodstuffs with you. Quiet (so far). Nothing...and I mean NOTHING...around this place. This only thing this property has going for it is its proximity to the airport. GIGANTIC parking lot so if you drive a big truck, you can definitely park it here and get a room. No in house restaurant or bar. There is a complimentary breakfast in the mornings of your standard hotel fare."
"Shuttle van is dirty, less than half of the seatbelts work, and it doesn't run on time. The rooms are old, worn down and there are stains on the carpet and furniture. The lighting is dim and the feel of the space is dank. The front desk is not particularly attentive or personable. An unpleasant stay but I still gave them a second try - and I will never stay there again. I recommend you DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS. Go somewhere else, there are plenty of options nearby!"
