"Overnight spur of the moment stay at the Darby, and it was a memorable experience. The owner and staff were welcoming and a pleasure to talk to. The shared space was well decorated and the perfect place to relax with a drink or work remotely. I brought my pup with me who had the best time of all running around with the resident pups there. A room with the soaking tub is a MUST! I look forward to returning to experience the new bar that is opening soon."
"We had a great time, older hotel that has been completely redone by a young creative team. Came with two young’s kids and had great time exploring the property. Hiked in the woods, pool in the Billiard room, board games by the fire. Essentially felt like a cabin in the woods experience with the ease of a hotel. We will be back when it snows as the property would be great for sledding with kids."
"We have stayed at The Darby before and after the new owners. It’s no frills, but tastefully decorated with just enough amenities like fire pits and a soon to re-open bar to make it well worth the very reasonable priced rooms. An easy walk to and from downtown Narrowsburg makes it stand out from any other Catskill/Pocono hotel. Nice to not have to drive after a night out!"
"Stayed for one night to try out this place we had seen from the road before. The lobby area was well furnished with lots of plants and tasteful decor, and the operators were attentive to guests with suggestions and activities. Location was very nice with a short walk over the bridge to some shops and restaurants. Overall though the place couldn't escape its history as a nursing home that had been given a coat of fresh paint. The rooms are very small with the shower inside the bedroom just separated by a shower curtain. Heating/cooling is provided by a very loud window unit that makes it hard to enjoy the view or close the curtains. The main light fixture in our room was hanging by its wires from the ceiling and there were lamps with nowhere to plug them in. We also felt that the "queen" beds were closer to full-size as I saw someone else observed. Appreciated the light breakfast options but the coffee wasn't great. Overall we had a pleasant evening but it felt like a trendy concept only halfway executed. I don't think we'd recommend it to anyone else."
"I don't ever stay at a small hotels like this one lol, I always stay at a Marriott or some other large chain hotels. But I had to find a place for a one night stay short notice. Took a chance with The Darby Hotel and I have to say it was really nice. The bed was wicked comfortable, and the decor was also good. The owner was nice as well, we had a good conversation before I left. His dog is really friendly as well. I would like to go back some day and check out the Fort Delaware Museum that isn't far from the hotel. Ya definitely recommend the Darby Hotel."
