"I lived in the building for 18 months and wanted to share the pros and cons for other folks researching where to live in Bethesda. Pros: the concierge staff are really friendly, the maintenance people are responsive, the views from the rooftop are nice, and it's above Trader Joes. Cons: water pressure is reallllllllly terrible, especially in the showers (even in the penthouse-level showers). Poor insulation, so you'll hear the neighbors above, beneath, and both sides, and all the traffic. Closets are large sq ft but poorly designed, so there's not enough shelving and you'll have to remove some of it for long dresses or coats to hang properly. Construction phase of building had issues, so you'll notice the floors aren't level, the walls aren't square, fridge doors can't open all the way, and some other quarky things. The heat and A/C are "eco friendly" so it will take a couple hours for your unit to warm up or cool down. Rooftop grills were out of commission for 11 months. Elevators are frequently under maintenance or being used by movers, and since there are only 4 for the entire building and they are necessary to reach the garage, be prepared to wait and crowd into the elevator. Good luck getting a parking spot. Management jacked up rent price by 20%. So I moved, found a place just as big with nicer finishes for half the price. (Not kidding.) "While the apartments are nice it's hard to get ahold of anyone in the leasing office. Twice I applied and both times told my income couldn't be verified after I provided paystubs and bank statement, along with the work number to verify. I believe this property discriminated against me because of my race (black). I've never applied anywhere and been told my income cannot be verified and application cancelled. There was never a telephone call, only an email after I left a message with the concierge for the leasing office to call me about the application status. Because of this I would not recommend this property."

"Nothing to complain, this is the best apartment in Bethesda area!! Close to metro, trader joe, Bethesda row, restaurants. Very nice staff, nice amenity. I lived here for a year, recently moved out due to job relocate. Will definitely miss this place and all the nice memories."

"My whole experience from touring the place to moving in and settling in has been brilliant. Both Mariah and Kimberley from the leasing office are really responsive and made the process as smooth as possible to sign the lease. Hans has been absolutely phenomenal, he made my move in very smooth and has always been professional, polite and very willing to go out of his way to help. Guzman and Alex from the maintenance team have assisted with my maintenance requests in a professional and very responsive manner. They ensure that the jobs have been completed to a high standard and check in when they see you walk through the building that everything is still going well. The staff at 8001 Woodmont have been none other than outstanding, i am very happy to call 8001 Woodmont home, they certainly do make me feel at home! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a home in Bethesda!"
