"I generally come to the Homestead, PA area 2 times a year for business and stay either here or at the Hampton Inn next door. Year after year the cleanliness of the rooms are deteriorating. This is the second time I’ve complained about the rooms. As you can see from the photos there are stains everywhere on the ottoman and floor as well as mascara stains on the wash cloth. Both wash cloths were stained. The place needs an upgrade and deep cleaning. I will say any encounter with any of the staff has been completely fine. The bistro food isn’t terrible but kind of pricey. I will definitely be hesitant about staying here by myself or any coworkers in the future. After you replace your carpet, furniture, and towels I may reconsider."
"The beds were comfy, the place looked really good. I think I may be a bit spoiled from free breakfast and dinners from other hotels. This place did not serve free breakfast or dinner. Other than that, everything else was great! At least there was coffee in the room."
"Room was clean & staff was very helpful. Only problems I had was with the door not shutting properly and the tv wouldn't come on. Front desk employees (wish I remembered their names) were great & help me"
"What a disappointment we experienced at this hotel this. The first room given (231), was horrible. There was mold growing on the wall outside of the shower and in the floor tiles. The shower is pulling from the wall, and didn’t even have a container of body soap in the shower. The toilet would start filling every 2 minutes or less. The wall in the room was gross. I don’t even want to speculate what that was on the wall, other than disgusting. We were then given room 412, which was an improvement in some ways. However, the walls in this room had something that previously ran down them and dried. Then there was the AC, which sounded like the roar of an engine every time it started up. Something is loose on the housing so it growls horribly from vibrations unless you hold the top of it down. That isn’t really possible to do all night while sleeping, so sleep was not good. In regards to staff, the gentleman who checked us in was polite and friendly. The evening staff member was gracious when I mentioned the issues in 231 and moved us to 412. However, follow through from the other staff was not there. We requested additional towels on the 29th in the morning. After about 2 hours, we requested them again. We picked them up from the front desk ourselves at about 10pm that night since there was no follow through from the other 2 staff who said they were getting them. Then there is our safety. The side doors of the building are taped to allow entry 24/7. I brought this to the staff’s attention and they said this was maintenance’s solution for an issue they are addressing. I was told me not to worry because the main front door was secured, but that doesn’t really make a lot of sense or change anything. I stay in Marriott properties 50-100 nights a year. This is one of the worst properties I have ever stayed in, so do yourself a favor and try any of the other neighboring properties."
"The friendly staff that is always willing to help is the only reason this isn't a one star review. First room they assigned smelled like something had died in it, so the front desk changed our room without question. Second room had mildew on bathroom walls. Bed was very uncomfortable. You must ask the front desk for extra linens for the sofa bed, and they were provided quickly. We had family staying in three rooms total; the air conditioners did not work well in any of those rooms. Two stayed hot and muggy. The third stayed cool but the AC made awful, constant squealing noises. The lobby was very hot and humid despite that the air conditioner was being serviced when we arrived. Very few towels in pool, better bring your own from the room. That said, we needed additional towels after swimming, which were provided quickly by the friendly staff at the front desk. The hot tub was out of service. This hotel is definitely not worth the prices they charge!"
