"Hello, There is a crane who visits the docks every night to feed... the are around with the other animals that frequent the place at night The cottages were almost filled this past weekend. In may, june half way threw july there wasnt to much activity. , Bam All of the cottages were rented out I think This great it's good to see good people and their families enjoying themselves again. The country store within walking distance has great food my favorite is the chicken salad and a few rolls great for anyone on the go. Great for boating. I am happy to say that things are looking good again. I do answer questions I have a lake house that my grandfather gave me... The lakeside country cottages have been there since I was a kid. I am 53 and been going there all my life. And have never heard a complaint from anyone I told over the years to stay there. The cabins are small quaint family structured places to get away from it all. I don't rent my place out so this was a logical place to tell people if they wanted to visit lake Wallenpaupack. Before I left the lake this morning 3 bald eagles flew overhead from the preserve on KIPP island which is the second out of the 4 islands"
"I booked this getaway for me and my husband so we can have a peace of mind..working hard..dealing with the pandemic of COVID. I saw some reviews and got skeptical..but when I arrived I was sooooooo happy we booked this getaway...it's so worth it..mental health relief. I love how's everything is close by and so much is included in the stay..so much to do..and being muslium I didn't know what to expect..they were so kind and welcoming..will definitely be back."
"DEPRESSING, DREADFUL, DUMP! I am not sure where this establishment got the pictures it posted on its website but I can assure you that the reality has no such likeness. The so-called cottages are actually decrepit, run-down shacks that are seriously out of date and depressing. My husband and I booked a cottage for a romantic holiday get- a -way. When we pulled up to the property we were literally unable to process that this was the place we had so eagerly anticipating. My husband assumed the roadside shacks were used to house machinery and equipment. The property itself was about 6 feet off of a main road. It was nowhere near the Lake as promised by the name "Lakeside", or the photos posted on the website. An employee showed us a cottage the outside of which featured a broken step to the porch, a roof covered in moss, and a general stage of crumbling and disrepair to the exterior of the structure. The interior had no heat and as it was 28 degrees outside, was freezing. A yellowed linoleum floor with no rug coverings and a bare steel framed bed in the middle of the living room first greeted us. The TV was from the 1980's and sat on a small stand. It featured the cutting edge technology from that time period boasting a built in VCR. Off to one side was a dark, galley style kitchen and the bathroom was closet sized. We had requested, and were promised a cottage with a fireplace but this cottage did not have a fireplace, it did have a pot bellied stove which probably was fortunate, since there was no discernable heat. I felt in desperate need of a shower just from walking through the front door. My husband and I were totally shocked. It is beyond us how this blatant false advertising is permitted by the Lake's property rental agency. The only people I could possibly recommend this to would be fugitives on the run from the law. Needless to say there was no way we would EVER consider staying in this dump. After driving 3 hours to begin our holiday, we turned around and went back home."
"Our trip was amazing. The cottage was very neat and clean and was equipped with all the facilities mentioned in the website. Owners are very nice people. The view from our cottage was spectacular! We will be going again! Betsy & Jose Burgos 9/6/2016 see you next year......"
"I loved it there! We spent an April weekend with my family in cabin #14. It was a little small, but very clean and cozy. The caretaker was just always around to help us with any questions or concerns. Loved the lake view and our evening campfire :)"
