"do not rent from Frances DeMaio or her underlings at Vacancy Busters or Square Feet Realty. She is unprofessional, rude, and too lazy to do her job. My roommate and I signed a lease and she tried to bully us into signing a new lease on new terms, and when I told her I would write this review she threatened to sue me. Laughable. scam alert and avoid at all costs!!"

"FRAN DEMAIO- zero stars!!! I contacted Fran Demaio several times about an apartment that was put up several hours before I contacted her. I sent through my application, called and called, emailed, everything. She never returned my calls. She answers on the 5th day and says she cannot get the keys to the apartment for a few more days. So I tried to call her that day and she did not pick up. My husband called from his number, and magically she picks up. She tells him that she just had two viewings for the apartment several days ago and the applications were going through. So she lied to me about not being able to get the keys. She’s a liar and was so rude. Not professional at all."

"Vacancy Busters did a great job managing our rental property which consisted of 5 units. They were excellent at keeping the property in great condition. They always keep in mind the cost to us for repairs and maintenance. The work done around the property was always of the highest quality. Vacancy Busters also did a great job collecting monthly rentals. Fran, the owner, also worked to make sure that the monthly rental amounts were in line with market rates. In addition to managing the property, Fran, also helped us sell this property for close to our asking price within a short period of time."

"Fran, Daniela and the team manage my property in East Rock and they are absolutely great! They are flexible and work with tenants and me on our issues. I am an out of state landlord and because of this company I never need to come to New Haven to check on repairs, tenants, anything. I had two emergency situations over the past two winters. My basement started to flood once from a pipe leak and the second time one of the pipes froze in January. Fran sent her emergency plumber (Dean) and they worked through the weekend and got me all setup. For the basement flood, I had to do an insurance claim and Fran handled it from end to end and saved me a bunch of money in the process. They are a busy company and emergency situations get priority over regular run of the mill repair jobs which is how it should be. Sometimes this can result in some repair work getting delayed - I think perhaps some of the negative reviews result from that. There are a finite number of maintenance crew in the company and every landlord expects asap service. I don't think that is a realistic way of thinking - given that houses in East Rock are 100+ years and need a lot of maintenance and so something always crops up for the maintenance stuff to do. All in all - good folks to deal with."

"After seeing some of the reviews on here, I was a little hesitant to do business with this company. However I found an apartment that I really wanted to see. I was very surprised to see how kind everyone was there. Vacancy Busters took very good care of me, and they mange the property that I now rent. They are more than happy to come out when I have any maintenance work that needs to be done. I would definitely do business with them again. The company was very prompt about getting me in to my current apartment- they handled the paperwork and all my questions that needed answering. This was my first time renting on my own, they were very helpful with leading me through the process. 10/10"
