The Study at Yale 1157 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06511

"I stayed at The Omni, The Graduate, and the New Haven Hotel before. All of them had larger, and more appointed rooms, but The Study wasn't bad. Just a bit more spartan, is all. The mattress, bedding, and bathroom amenities were all very nice. And I loved that the work area is large, taking up the whole area under the window, and has a great desk pad (that's not a freaking glass or clear plastic) that your mouse will actually work on. The lobby is very comfortable and inviting, and the restaurant was superb! I'd come back again, for sure!"

"Cosmopolitan did a review specifying exactly what I used to adore about the place: how pleasant it was for WFH or studying. They decided to change that this month and the front desk was quite rude to me about it. They let high schoolers loiter here and practically bow to local riffraff, so they don’t get canceled. But draw their ire at professionals and students who simply like to study…at The Study? The optics of this are duly noted. God Bless The Omni, for not subjecting me to burn through my hotspot and security where it actually counts. For obvious reasons I will not recommend them to future visitors and certainly not for future lists"

"The room was clean and comfortable. We were not given a bill when we left, and were told It would be emailed, which it was not- I had to call, and email, to finally get a bill and then dispute a double charge after I’d already paid through booking. This was frustrating and time consuming. Additionally, there is no ability to watch any streaming services whatsoever, which is unusual in a modern hotel."

"Wonderful hotel in the heart of New Haven. The lobby feels like someone's living room. Great staff, very helpful. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. They lose one star for the restaurant. The food is meh and the service is awful. It's in bad need of an overhaul from the top down."

"I meant to make a review after I stayed earlier this month, but I still wanted to say that this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in New Haven. The location is great, the rooms are decently spacious, the bathroom is luxurious (they carry C.O. Bigelow products), and the service was great. The security for the floors and rooms is top notch and reminded me of going into my office. Alex went above and beyond to ensure that we had a good room and had great communocation, and Tyler ironed out any potential issues we had. Thank you so much, Alex and Tyler!!"
