New Haven Hotel 229 George Street, New Haven, CT 06510

"We were here for one night. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and bright with plenty of hot water. One thing that was missing was an ice bucket and ice. After a long train ride I wanted a tall glass of ice cold water. I settled for tap water. The hotel does not offer breakfast. There was a place that served breakfast close by but it never appeared on Google Maps so we didn't know it was available. We ended up walking several blocks to a bookstore on the Yale campus that offered food. If you are. addicted to TV you may be disappointed. We had a large screen TV served by a Comcast box that converted digital cable channels into low resolution fuzzy analog video. I tried to watch a movie to relax but the poor video quality, worse than VHS was painful. We would not hesitate to return. Overall this is a very nice hotel."

"Great hotel - clean, quiet, comfy and welcoming staff - not a lover of downtown New Haven but the hotel made me forget I was there. They accept pets, too. Only downside is you have to pay for parking."

"The room was a good size. Unfortunately, the bathroom could have been cleaner. My morning shower was luke warm at best. The two front desk staff were extremely nice and professional."

"Directly downtown, within walking distance of tons of bars and restaurants. Close to Yale University campus. Parking is a little difficult if you have a vehicle that's got a clearance higher than 6ft but there is a parking garage around the corner that is secure and affordable. Lobby was luxurious and inviting. Rooms were spacious, updated and very clean. We did not love the fact the website indicated Bar and Restaurant on site, not the case, but still close to any type of food you like. You can purchase limited wine and draught beer at the front desk but no bar as listed."

"We had a one night stay, and it was great. Nice size room and very clean. Bed was comfortable. We were given a free drink ticket at check in. They have a small but nice selection of beers and wine. The lobby was beautifully decorated to be comfortable and inviting. Parking is across the street. Cost is $24 a day and you are given a key card for access to come and go. There are several things within walking distance to eat and drink. The staff was very nice in assisting with directions."
