"TLDR: They will replace a working part without your permission that doesn’t solve the issue in any form or fashion and then charge you anyway with no recourse. My car still didn’t work. Took my car to Z’s. They weren’t sure if they could service my car, and were waiting to hear back from their accounts manager for their diagnostic software to see if they had the DX tools to do the job. They also wanted to replace a part that still worked but needed to see if their software could diagnose my vehicle. I told them to wait for that answer before doing any work on my car. Because replacing the part was moot if their DX couldn’t do what was needed to identify the problem. They closed for the holidays and when I called on 1/3 they let me know they replaced the part anyway and it didn’t solve any issue at all, then charged me $434. I reminded them they didn’t have my permission to do any work before speaking with me. They noted my frustration and knocked off $153 so I still had to pay $280 for an unauthorized service and the new part didn’t solve the issue at all. Pretty disappointed overall and would never recommend them to anyone."
