"My fiancé and I are visiting the Durango area from Austin, TX looking at properties and a check engine light came on my 2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2. After taking it to the local Chevy dealership, I was told it would be a month before they could get to me, which is extremely concerning given that we leave for Texas in a couple of days. I began calling around, asking if anyone could see me in the next day or so all the while making plans to fly home with the essentials and plan a trip back to pick up the truck after it was fixed. My fiancé was also calling local automotive shops and came across McNeal’s right down the road from our Airbnb. She spoke to Mike and that they could see me right now, so I immediately took her (the truck) in to get looked at. Cody took a quick look, confirmed that it was the engine coolant thermometer (ECT) as the Chevy dealership said, and began work right away. Cody told me it’s a 6-hour operation but “it shouldn’t take me that long”. A little while longer, Cody told me he had everything out and it would probably take another 30-45 minutes to reassemble everything and take her for a test drive. With the work complete, the truck runs great! I cannot recommend McNeal’s enough. Mike is a Durango native and one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. He’s owned the shop for almost 50 years and runs a very tight ship, and it is reflected in the high quality work they do. Cody was incredibly knowledgeable, diligent, and extremely nice! His attention to detail is another example of why this shop exceeded expectations. I am very grateful that they were able to see me so quickly. Do yourself a favor and go to McNeal’s for any automotive repairs or questions you may have. They are truly top-tier and a one-of-a-kind shop."
