Stanford Terrace Inn

"This hotel is conveniently located near Stanford so it earned 2 stars instead of 1. The room did not present as it does in the pictures. The hotel (motel) seemed abandoned and was a little uncomfortable for a single traveler. I didn't see any other guests and there were only a couple of cars in the parking lot. The room is very outdated and smelled like an antique shop. It did serve it's purpose, but I shut myself in early in the evening and feared leaving my room. I would not recommend this place to anyone."

"The whole atmosphere was not comfortable enough to get relax. I didn't see guests during my stay nor any cars parked in the garage, even there were other guests, it's not busy for sure. (We stayed in mid. Sep.) It didn't make sense to put us in the room almost in the very end of the hallway. The building was probably old, it's not convenient from elevator to rooms located in such weird route. I don't like the carpet, the noise from the pool, the fan was too loud... I didn't even feel like taking pictures inside the room."

"For my tastes, I've never seen a hotel so overpriced. The inn feels cheap, the room kitchenette could be more clean (sticky cabinet surface, grime in sink, food particles in ice racks), and the rooms have an unpleasant scent. On the bright side, the rooms are spacious."

"Nothing like the pictures. You enter this place and it’s completely run down. The rooms are old and some parts of it smell. There’s a random desktop computer in the room. The gym is one machine and a few free weights. The breakfast is regular hotel breakfast. The gate requires you to yell your name out and wait to get in. The design is of poor taste. The system of reservation has no upkeep, it complained about not returning a key (which I did return) but also, what hotel has ever complained and that? It sells at the rate of a Sheraton but it’s closer to a shady inn. Was very displeased with the stay here."

"I work on campus and use the Terrace Inn quite frequently for guests coming in. I've had weekly speakers stay here for about 2 years now and it's always been a comfortable and pleasant experience. The guests enjoy the rooms, excellent service, and breakfast. Recently we held a major conference and had about 40 guests stay here. We booked out a majority of the rooms weeks in advance and the service was wonderful. The hotel took care of all incoming guests, last minute changes, updating folios, basically anything that can come up with so many guests was taken care of very efficiently. The team is very accommodating and the location is ideal. I highly recommend this hotel if you're in the Palo Alto/Stanford area!"
