"Wonderful customer service. We bought a dometic fridge in San Francisco for extra storage for an ocean passage, it passed away going down the coast. Amanda in customer service arranged a replacement for us even though it was slightly past the 30 days after I explained we didn't have a way for dometic to mail a replacement, and we were in dire need if the storage for the 39 day passage with 4 people on board. We were well taken care of. Thank you!"
"After sailing down the coast of California I may say that this is the best West Marine we have been to thus far. Lee was especially helpful hunting down parts to ensure that the proper autopilot would be obtained for our vessel."
"This place is in serious need of a shakeup. The stock is limited at best even for basic components, the parts counter NEVER answers the phone and staff seems to be having more fun socializing than doing actual work. This is a last resort place now which sucks because now I have to drive all the way to El Cajon from the beach to get parts at a fair price and speak to more versed sales folks. This store has truly earned its right to title of WORST Marine. I only give it 2 stars for the fairly cheap aftermarket parts they offer, which don't last but for budget minded clients who don't care for the best, they work and get things out of the shop for me."
"Employees are too busy to sell products. I walked in, and found myself the only customer. Needing to purchase some line by the foot for a project, I made my way to the line locker and stood around for a while, but no one asked if I needed assistance. No problem, there were a couple employees setting up what appeared to be a clearance table, and talking animatedly between themselves. I made my way over, and stood being ignored for nearly a minute, until one of them asked if I needed something, to which I responded that I needed some line. I was told, "Ok, we'll help you in just a minute". I thought that was strange, but returned to the line locker awaiting the promised help. After several more minutes idly standing around with no assistance to be had , I concluded that asking the employees of West Marine to sell me products was clearly an imposition on my part, and left."
