"My child was physically harmed on his 3rd day of school by his kindergarten teacher Ashley Callis. My son got in the car after school in fear asking for me to come to class with him tomorrow, when I asked what happened? He told me that Ms.Callis thumped him in his forehead. I asked for him to demonstrate what Ms.Callis did my child then thumped me in my forehead. I was still outside of the school and went back to talk to Mr.Johnson the principal he completely brushed me off didn’t offer to investigate immediately he said he would have Ms.Callis to call me. Neither of them reassured my sons safety. After sending emails to him and the superintendent he then told me he would investigate! They both spoke on her character as a teacher, rather then the situation at hand. He covered for her and they basically called my child a liar. It was his 3rd day of school!!! Kindergarten! And they ruined his experience! I opened up a case with child protective services and they are investigating Ms. Callis!"

"Coming from CFBISD, I'm very impressed with KISD and more so with Basswood. Mr Johnson is an excellent principal who is very involved in the school. Teachers and staff that I've dealt with are the greatest I have ever seen. This will be our third year and we are honestly looking forward to it. Be involved as much as you can as this school is all about involvement from parents to staff."
