"Great selection of sporting goods, good quality clothing, both recognized brands as their own in-house brand (bcg), which is of good quality as well. Sportswear, Equipment, among many other goods can be found here. In general prices can be a bit better than other major sporting goods corporations. Amount of variety, models of the merchandise they carry, is ample, with good customer service from their staff, which you can always find representatives to help you ."

"I recently received several firearms from my family. Having never purchased ammo, I asked friends for recommendations and Academy was by far the most recognized because of their prices and knowledgeable sales staff. I visited my Keller, TX store with my list of needed ammo. Two salespeople in the ammo aisle stopped to help me. I showed them what I needed and made it very clear I did not know anything about ammo and that I had lessons planned for both safety and target practice. When I met with my instructor, he immediately informed me I had the wrong ammo. He also stated firing the weapon with these bullets could jam or worse. I returned to Academy and the folks explained they could not accept returned ammo. I certainly understand but felt like this Keller store had some responsibility as I just took the box of ammo they pulled from the shelf and handed to me. Had I just walked in and picked up the wrong size, I would just accept this was a learning lesson and move on. I have been a long-term customer of Academy and had always felt I had been treated fairly. But that has now come to a close. Customer service offered me 15% off for an online order (capped at $30). I will not use this as I know will no longer make purchases from Academy. Academy could certainly absorb the $32 to keep a long-time customer. Buyer Beware."
