"Watch out for the facility fee! My son needed an EKG. We were referred to Children's Health Hospital & went to what we thought was the medical office building next to the hospital. We were the only ones in the waiting room; in fact, the only people in the office aside from the 5 employees. I asked the receptionist if I could pay my $70 copay. She said "We'll bill your insurance." We saw the tech, had the ekg, & the doctor came in & said everything was normal. It all took less than 20 minutes. 2 weeks later, a bill for $265 arrived from Children's for an EKG. I work in a doctor's office & know that EKGs don't cost that much. Children's said it was really a facility fee. BCBS said they were billed for the "technical aspect" of the EKG that another doctor interpreted. That's not what happened. We saw Dr. F, he interpreted it in front of us. We received a separate bill from Dr. F for our copay plus $19 for the EKG. I don't mind paying Dr. F. I DO mind having to pay $265 just for setting foot in Children's. So much for transparency in medicine!"

"Normally I have a good experience with Children's Health, however my experience with Dr. Wang in the ophthalmology clinic was the COMPLETE opposite. Besides her lack of friendliness, argumentative responses, and blatant unprofessionalism, I'll stick to professionalism. After sitting in the waiting area for my daughter's eyes to dilate; when called back into the room, there was a high school student in the room with her. Neither Dr. Wang or the student bothered to introduce themselves, so I took the initiative. She still never asked me if it were okay to have her in the room and/or looking over her shoulder at my daughter's chart. I was hoping that after completing their evaluation I would hear from someone, but not a word. I am extremely disappointed in this visit and will NOT be returning to her and may not return to Children's. Note that this experience was much more upsetting than listed, I just want to point out her HIPAA violation, leaving my feelings out of this. I cannot recommend that ophthalmology clinic at this location...look elsewhere."

"We used to sing the praises of Children's. When my son was cared for after being diagnosed with T1 diabetes the hospital staff and doctors were amazing. Well, our amazing doctors have left and we are now on our third doctor. I can't find insurance that Children's will accept so I pay my insurance premiums AND pay out of pocket for required check-ups every three months to keep my son healthy. I just received a bill from 12-2017 (5 months later!) that was supposed to be covered by my previous insurance company and now billing says it's not covered. ($463). For our April 2018 visit we were told that a self-pay visit is $200 to see a nurse practitioner. No other charges were discussed. I asked several times for clarification and was told that it is $200. Period. Today I received a bill for a balance of $139. Billing says it's ACTUALLY $339 for the visit and that they should have told me that at the visit. And yet another bill arrived for "hospital services" to check his blood sugar in the amount of $348!!!! We had his meter in the office, we could have told you what his blood sugar was for free. I pointed out that the same service on the December bill shows up as $27.50 and was told that UT Southwestern and Children's have different billing systems. You are charged by different places depending on if you see a doctor or a nurse practitioner. I will not be held hostage by a ridiculous billing system that no one can seem to explain to me. But I was offered a 25% discount to settle the bill now. It's sad that I used to think that Children's actually cared about helping kids and families stay healthy. Now I realize it's just a heartless money-making operation. I am going to find another healthcare provider for my son. So incredibly disappointed."
