Gearing Up Counseling

"EDIT: Changing my review from 1 to 3 stars because the new office manager Theresa took steps to make things right. I was informed Brandi no longer works there, that the policy of requiring group therapy no longer exists, and I was refunded for the charge. Sounds like positive change has taken place with enough feedback. ----------------- Really really awful experience with this counseling center in 2020. I saw Brandi Herzog during one of the most difficult times of my life and on multiple occasions she was super distracted and multi tasking or eating her lunch during our sessions. One time she started wrapping Christmas presents during a session. She regularly took a "devil's advocate" type of approach and left me feeling worse most of the time. I always felt like I annoyed her and that she didn't want to be there. I tried doing the "group" therapy which was unhelpful. Nothing personable, no opportunities to share or learn from each other. It's just a lecture about what DBT and mindfulness is with over 40 people in attendance. I withdrew from group therapy and then they said I could no longer do individual therapy if I didn't keep going, so I dropped the entire clinic. 3 years later, they randomly charge me for a group session I "no showed" when I have in writing that I withdrew from the clinic."
