Redwood Apartments

"I currently live here been here since October. The apartment is beautiful the outside is beautiful but since moving in I'm not sure if its a manage thing or maintenance thing. My repairs never get done in a timely manner. No one ever responds to you the community line or text line, the gate code is on the passenger side and the gate gets stuck alot. Also shower water doesn't stay hot. Maybe you get 5 mins max of hot water then it starts cooling down until it gets cold. And also do bring your own washer and dryer. The ones on the complex are really bad. You will spend your quarters trying to dry. I know I will not stay here forever but for the time being it's definitely a headache. Like I said appearance is beautiful but that's about it. I really hope I dont get any retaliation for posting this but once ok. But it's become a pattern. So it needs to be known."

"I absolutely loved living here at this apartment complex when Sandy was in charge and old management owned this place. When new management arrived, everything started to go downhill. I sincerely believe that new management does not run background checks or even cares about the people that they let into the complex and because of this I had to leave. I am scared for the women and young girls that reside in this complex because I was unfortunately harassed by a man who lives by the pool close to the mailroom, along with my friends even after clearly stating to him that we were minors and for him to stay away from us. The situation got so out of hand that I needed to pull out my stun gun as a means of protection because the man would not leave my friends and I alone, he was yelling sexual things at us while we were at the pool and telling us to stay there bc he wanted to "hangout" with us.. I had to notify the manager about this through voicemail even though I did not feel comfortable stating what had happened through voicemail, because she never picks up the phone and never seems to be in the office (even when it is open, i went in multiple times bc the door is left unlocked 24/7 and she was never there). Apart from this, she never got back to me in regards to the situation and instead decided to close the pool for "cleaning purposes" because I had called previously asking if they could please clean up the pool because another day that I was at the pool with 2 of my friends, one of them stepped on something that burned their skin. I notified her nicely about this, and she told me that the way that they clean the pool is by just throwing tablets in there and that the pool was already clean, once again disregarding the fact that a person was injured. I sincerely hope that the owners of this apartment complex see this review and that they consider hiring better staff. These are only a few of the things that I've had to endure while I lived at Redwood Apartments. Some other more minor issues in comparison to the ones stated above are: the lack of attention that maintenance gives to the residents, they took almost a year to fix the things that they broke when fixing things in my unit. The entry/exit gate situation is so messed up as well, the exit gate sensor has not been fixed & the front gate passcode is on the opposite end. You'd think that they'd be able to fix such minor things by now with the amount of charges and fees they love to give out to their residents. They're good at responding when they want to complain or overcharge you for something dumb just to get money out of you, but when the residents come with actual concerns such as mine, we are disregarded and ignored completely."

"I had a great experience living here! The move in process was quick and simple. Management was always helpful and maintenance requests always taken care pf in a timely manner. The property was always clean and I felt safe living there."

"Not only were these apartments located in a convenient location to my needs, but staff was friendly and helpful. They were always attentive of my needs. Place was clutter free and nearly kept. I would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for an apartment in this area."

"Back in September of 2020, we were hit with a horrible thunderstorm causing the roof to leak. I reported the situation and soon after several people came by to take pictures and do an estimate of the leak damages. Since then, we did not receive any heavy rain. However, I noticed throughout the 8 months up until now there has been plastic covering all over the roofs throughout the complex. Honestly, it looks tacky and not very appealing to future tenants. Furthermore, fast forward today, May of 2021, we were hit with another crazy thunderstorm. To my surprise once again the roof was leaking but this time the water was coming through the ceiling rigorously. My question is, why hasn't this issue been fixed if there were estimators and adjusters who came by my unit to take pictures. I was under the impression that this hazardous situation was going to be resolved back in September of 2020. 8 months have gone by and the situation has escalated to ceiling damages not to mention the inconvenience of trying to stop the leakage from caving through. My concern is hurricane season is two weeks away, and we are expecting more torrential rains to happen in the next couple of days and weeks. My question is when are the owners of the complex going to fix this dangerous issue? I have noticed numerous residents leaving, now it makes sense things are not getting done. I have spoken to a good number of residents. They too mentioned their concern for the Redwood Apartments not getting the roofing done due to leakage in their apartment. Overall, we are wanting our roofs covered and fixed to prevent extreme damages that will cause residents to leave and express our dissatisfaction with the upkeep of the Redwood Apartments.
