"0 stars for them honestly. Owner of the complex we stayed at decided to have them manage her apartments. So they had no idea the shape this apartment was in when it was handed to us. We put in so many work orders and they’d send people but nothing would ever get fixed. I would always report our horrible experience to the owner and she’d have to go out of her way in solving the issue instead of these so called “ management ppl”she hired. At the end when our lease ended they kept our deposit! So of course I went to the office to show all my proof I had of the shape this apartment was given to me because they had no idea. The lady who takes care of this kept telling the girls in the front to have us wait and we didn’t go anywhere. I finally demanded to speak to her and she did come and started arguing with me. I was talking to her calmly and nicely and she just started raising her voice at us and I freaked out at how unprofessional they treated us. She then asked us to step out so we could talk outside and we did go outside and she began to apologize to us and tell us all her personal problems she was going through so she kindly asked us to give her more time but that today was not that day. Mind you we just drove from Mercedes all the way to their office in McAllen.But we gave her that chance. Weeks later she finally got back to us and was able to see our proof but still didn’t refund us the full amount we were owed. But it’s ok! God takes care of our battles.I don’t recommend anyone going with this company. Horrible horrible ppl."
"I hated the management system. They don’t do anything about the neighbors disturbing you. All they do is continuously send texts and emails to lower down the noise disturbance, BUT the walls are so thin you can hear everything! I couldn’t even go to the restroom or my neighbor would call the cops! I called the management multiple times and NO ONE would answer to help me regarding this issue. I would write emails to the boss (Edith), one of the main employees (Rebecca) and I would get zero responses from both of them. I had to go in person and it still was no help! Rebecca gave me different numbers that would take me to maintenance. How is maintenance going to help with my issues regarding disturbances? I even emailed about my plumbing twice. Both times I was ignored until I mentioned how I had to pay $500 for my water bill! I finally moved out and I still haven’t received my deposit either. Rebecca mentioned how I would be reviewing something in the mail, BUT I haven’t received anything. This was my first apartment experience and I HATED it. This is one of the worst management systems ever. I don’t recommend these apartments what so ever."
"(Location on 5021 Auburn Ave McAllen Tx) I moved out since then i lived here for over 8 years with the previous owner but once Sky blue took over. IT IS THE Worst management ever they never fix a thing. We had an incident in summer where our ac went out. It was not fixed for over a month. I had to buy Ac units for the windows. No help when you call the office and they treat tenets like if we were begging for help. They're rude and disrespectful. Late fees are ridiculous even if you let them know you'll be late by a day they still charge you. Apts have mold and are decaying they don't care they need the rent regardless. Stay away from any apartments if you see Sky Blue Management. You'll regret it I promise. And rent is on the rise because they painted the walls as soon as we moved out to 775 a month or more for a place with mold. I hope you fix the mold on the rest of the apts"
"Beware they steal your money and threaten you with eviction among other things. During the first year renting with Sky Blue I made a monthly payment for the rent as usual. A day later I started receiving very aggressive calls from management claiming I was a day late with my rent. I checked my bank account and saw the payment had been successfully processed in full so I called management back. I tried explaining how the payment was showing as processed on my end and I say I "tried" because the manager was extremely rude. I could not get a word in without them interrupting me claiming I hadn't made the payment. I asked for suggestions on how I could prove to them I had indeed made the payment and they suggested sending a screenshot of the payment and getting a letter from the bank. I took the time of going to the bank and getting a letter and a bank statement proving I had made the payment on the day it was due. Once I sent everything I called management and they had the audacity to still deny I made the payment. Mind you that whole process took about a day so I was already about three days "late" with my rent. On the third day they sent a random man to harass me with not paying my rent and eviction and even went as far as posting an eviction notice. With no other choice I decided to make another payment to avoid eviction. I would call management every day requesting further investigation but management just refused and basically told me to just leave it alone because there was nothing they could do. I decided to take my losses and moved on. A couple of months later I randomly checked the renter's app and noticed a "credit" in the amount of the rent. Obviously they eventually did catch their mistake and refunded me the full rent they had initially denied I had made in the form of "credit". Basically they stole my money and just quietly went about their business. Three years and many other incidents later, they have still not apologized or admitted to their incompetence in running a business."
"The office ladies are always super helpful and friendly. They have a very easy system with plenty of options to make a rent payment and submit work orders. I did have one horrible experience with whom I'm guessing is a male secretary for the head of the maintenance team. I was charged for an appointment that they had rescheduled and forgot to confirm with me as promised. This secretary lied about contacting me to confirm it (obviously with call logs and today's technology this was not a good move). After some questioning from me he almost admitted it but then continued to lie about contacting me and was aggressive so I raised my voice right back. He told me he couldn't tell his supervisor to call me or give me their information. Then after some more questioning from me about how he couldn't do this he said they were on vacation. The ladies at the office intracted with after this issue fixed it all and were amazing, as always. This maintenance team though is something else. The head office team is great at communicating. The apartment is nice, everything looks new. The only big issue was an insane ant infestation and holes in the grout that allowed them entry (this was what the maintenance team was supposed to fix but I did it my own after that interaction). The office ladies comped the first treatment inside and then outside is on them. I did buy my own treatment of granules for the outside because 1 the maintenance people rescheduled and then were unprofessional so no way I'm allowing them in my place and 2 the pest control took nearly 2 weeks to call me not within a day as originally told. The granules worked, i fixed the holes, pest control came by, all good now."
