"My partner and I moved into the Oakwood May of 2022 and we have loved it. I know many people have negative things to say about this building, but quirks come with living in an older building, I personally didn't mind them. You just get used to them. The property manager Mike clearly cares about this property and it's residents. I'm moving this year sadly, but I have loved my time at the Oakwood and would highly recommend it to others looking for cute and classic apartments with nice amenities."

"We lived in Oakwood manor for a little over a year and loved every day of it. Not only is it in the historic Heritage Hill neighborhood, close to great restaurants within walking distance on both Cherry and Wealthy, but also, the management team has been most accommodating to our needs, from being flexible with our move in schedule to addressing issues that arose in our apartment. The property management and maintenance staff is extremely friendly. The lobby is absolutely beautiful, and the two bedroom apartments are stunning, with original hard wood floor, bright natural lighting, large open dining-living room, and original terrazzo in both the bathrooms and first floor hallways. We were also able to participate in the community garden space, which was awesome to get fresh veggies in such a large apartment complex. Compared to pricing in the heritage hill area, Oakwood Manor definitely gives you more bang for your buck, especially since utilities, water, trash, and heating are all included in your rent, and if you are lucky enough to get a corner apartment like we had, you are in for a real treat! All in all, our experience at Oakwood is 5 star, two thumbs up. It's a great apartment complex with lots of history. If you are lucky enough to live there, I know you'll love it!"

"Old tenants are being sorta over the top about the new owners. Heat is now fixed, and better than what it was last year. Grounds are looking great, front area, and hallways are being remodeled. The elevator is old and it breaks quite a bit. I used the service elevator to move in, so I don't know what the complaint is there. Yes, it is quite a bit of money for an apartment, but if you've looked around the area, it's definitely not outrageous for the location and what you get. Remodeling in the basement has begun and they are making progress. Over all I've had a great experience thus far, and and hope to keep living there as long as rents in heritage hill stay reasonable."

"Oakwood Manor is amazing. It is such a beautiful older building near the heart of Grand Rapids. Still bearing the quality, yet most charming of the 1920's architectural design, the Oakwood has such great character-full of thick molding, old service doors attached to every apartment, and also a stunning view not only of the city, but of the courtyard. I have lived here the past two, almost three years. My rent has started at a 1 bedroom for 550. With my cat I was paying 575. Another 25 was added the next year. So I am currently paying 610. And the place is great. They make you feel like home, the staff knows you. We have an amazing thrift store in the basement next to the laundry room. We call it the "free room." Silly or not, it is a lot of fun. And its secure. All main doors are locked. and stay shut and locked. There's a phone thing to buzz people in and a small parking garage, vast amounts of parking in the free lot attached to the apartment building. The garage cost 30 a month, but I've never needed it, even in the winter. All utilities are included in the rent too! Place is great, staff is great. I am glad to know I'll always be fortunate to have such a wonderful place to live. Couldn't ask for more!"
