Peppercorn Apartments

"It's not the worst place to live, but it's not the best place to live, the apartments aren't updated. They're about a 1000 years old, the appliances are a joke. The fridge shelves break easily. In the winter there's never any hot water and the heat. At some point will stop working. Most likely in the coldest days. That dishwashers about a 1000 years old and is rusting. Pretty sure some of the baseboards in my kitchen are dry rot. The lilnolium flooring is cheap and damages easy. The glaze on the tub is also cheap and comes apart easily. The rent is way too high for what you're getting. I feel like my rent money is not going where it needs to be. Where is it going? If it's not going toward improvements, I know it has to go toward taxes but come on. The windows are heavy not to mention the one in my room doesn't stay open. The air conditioner is nice, but it's on the same wall as my bedroom. So my bedroom doesn't get cooled down in the summer. People leave the window in the hallway. Open, so bugs get in all the time. Haven't felt safe since the recent shooting. That was way too close for comfort. Over all I just wish it was updated more. I know they're probably doing their best. But the rent is way too high for what you're getting here so I had to take them down a couple pegs. Sorry but everything I said is true., I've been here 2 maybe 3 rears. "Ridiculous pricing on garages per month you can be in a climate controlled self storage for that price... the garages flood and freeze and have animals from mice to squirrels and they aren't up kept and nice very trashy ... I won't be staying"

"This place is not terrible, but I don't think I would want to sign a new lease here. The plumbing doesn't work like it should so the boards under the sinks are in pretty bad shape. The building I live in is infested with long-legged sac spiders which pack a mean bite if you get too close, and they are impossible to get rid of because they are in the whole building. The office staff seem very friendly and the price is not bad considering the high rent rates in Grand Rapids. If you have the money to live somewhere else, I would recommend it, but if you are not picky and need somewhere to stay, this place is fine. It's not a cozy place, but at least I don't feel unsafe living here."
