"My experience with Apricot Cabinets was an absolute nightmare with the exception that they reimbursed us $2300 after the fact…which we didn’t find to be sufficient but she, the owner, said she would meet us half way on our request. First and foremost, we have a kitchen that is about 15 x 10, our cabinet order was $15,000. We went with them bc we wanted to support a small business, however, we wish we would have went with Home Depot custom cabinets who we had chosen for our bathroom, we got 30% off our order at HD and our cabinets are solid wood except for the ends are paneled. Now to get to our experience with AC: they got our cabinet color wrong, they offered to replace all of the cabinets but unfortunately we had been without a kitchen for several months and could not extend the time of our renovation, 7 of 10 of our bottom cabinets were incorrectly ordered. We didn’t get a lazy susan, they didn’t order the end 4-drawers, the microwave cabinet was not custom and did not fit our microwave, our 2 top drawers on each side of our stove did not have the inserts that were to be ordered and we were not given the broom closet that we ordered. We ended up settling on keeping some of the incorrect cabinets and they were able to fix the others. One of their workers came over and “rigged” the microwave cabinet, which looked good at first but there is no ventilation for the microwave and it’s sitting on top of a piece of plywood-when I addressed this with the rep in the office, she told me that our contractor could help us with the microwave and the cabinet and they did all the could. They also ordered the wrong sided cabinets for beside our fridge so therefore we cannot open our cabinet when the fridge is open. Not to mention we ordered maple cabinets based on what we were shown in the showroom (which was a solid wood cabinet face), however, we have panel faced cabinets with a wood border. I want to clarify as well that we didn’t order these cabinets over the phone, we had an in person meeting with the owner and 2 of her workers….and all of these mistakes were still made. My intent on writing this review is not to ruin the business, however, we had requested that they price match Home Depot’s quote after we realized that the quality of the cabinet we received was not equivalent to what we would have received at Home Depot and amongst all of their mistakes made on the ordered process. The owner not once reached out to us to apologize and had several workers assist in the process, it was confusing and there were a lot of miscommunications even during the process of fixing the issues. I found the owner to be cold and unconcerned with our issues. I also found her refund to be inadequate as we are still dealing with cabinets that open the incorrect way and a microwave that is sitting on top of a piece of plywood. I find this to be unacceptable and hope that moving forward with other customers she is more kind and hospitable. We are disappointed with both the product and the service."
