"The rooms could of been a little cleaner and there were some light bulbs out but the view you just can't beat!!! We stayed in the family room on 3rd floor and we highly recommend this room.. The balcony view is the Mackinac Bridge, Mackinac Island and another island Bois Blanc I think ( not sure) but it was wonderful!!! Will definitely be staying there from now on..."

"When checking in, the receptionist was nice. Once we got off the elevator, there was an off-putting smell on the floor. Our room had a great view of the beach, but the décor was outdated and the room was dirty. My wife found 2 used tissues behind the end table, there were cobwebs (one had a spider in it), dust on the curtains, and a hole above the shower (spy-cam?) with a paper towel shoved in it. Also, there was rust on the vent-covers. These are cheap, easy fixes. When checking out, I was expecting the receptionist to ask how our stay went. Without looking up from her magazine, she pointed to a basket and said "keys go in there". Someone is making way more money than they deserve to managing/owning this place."

"I have to start by saying that when I take another trip to Mackinaw I won't stay at this hotel again. I have three positives about this property: the room was large, nice view of the lake, it had a microwave and a refrigerator. The grounds are covered are covered with geese poop. I would not recommend trying to walk closer to the water without much boots, it's even on the sidewalks. At the very least put up a sign warning people. The building hasn't seen a pressure washing in years. One front desk person had no idea how to run a debit card as a credit card. See below for description of the room, I had the privilege of paying $513 for a room that should have been less than $250 and that was all for the view. My recommendation do not stay here."

"The rooms are spacious and have a balcony overlooking the water. However the entire hotel is very old and outdated. Everything is in desperate need of updates and repairs. The hot tub was dirty and had sand in the bottom. There was only one working ice machine. Front desk staff was not warm and welcoming. When I booked our room for 3 nights I received a confirmation email but two days prior to arrival I received a call and was told the price in the email was wrong. When I stated I should receive the price in the email Ed (the manager) spoke to me and said because Friday is a “big” night he would not honor that price and would be charging me $100 more. I understand mistakes are made but talk about poor customer service. Needless to say I will not be staying here again snd will not recommend it to anybody."

"This was a fantastic hotel for my husband and I to stay on our short trip. We had a beautiful lake view and the sound of the waves was great. Not loud despite being right on the beach on a holiday weekend. The room and bathroom were very clean. I appreciated the sink in the small nook next to the fridge and microwave. Pretty walkable to downtown if you don't want to drive, only about 1 mile or less. We will definitely be staying again when we come back."
