"Rooms were outdated and dirty. Room was very hot and air conditioner was very loud and did not cool the room down. Claims to be lakeview but it is parking lot view. The outdoor stairs were rotting and unsafe. Would not allow me to cancel our reservations. Said I could only within 72 hours but had just reserved it 24 hours prior. Chose to not sleep there even though I had already paid, that's how bad it looked."

"Read reviews and started to second guess making a reservation. Our room was fine, not perfect but for the price we were happy. Not sure why reviews are so bad. If you are not planning on spending your time in the room its great. We would stay again. Just know its not a 5 star hotel. Its a great place to stay for a night or two in our opinion."

"The view of Lake Huron is great but they fail to include the that there is a very busy parking lot for the ferry disrupting your view. There is beach access as they are affiliated with the Clarion next door. However, there is empty liquor bottles, glass ,and trash everything. The beach area is clean but also lots of trash blowing around. Our room was disgusting. We bought blankets and slept on top of the bed. As soon as you walked in our room it smelled of mold and mildew. We got the corner room so only neighbors on one side (they smoked pot & cigarettes all night). The air conditioner barley worked and everything in the room was falling apart of missing chunks of wood. The wall paper and trim were literally falling off the walls. There were bugs everywhere flies, spiders (massive) spiders, mosquitoes, sand fleas. I inspected the mattress for bed bugs and did not find those. However, my 16 month old and myself woke up with bug bites. Also the balcony pillars were broke so we couldn't even relax for a second as a 16 month is very busy. He was unable to play on the floor. We tried to relocate and the staff would not cancel or refund. I made a report to the local Health Department and hope they are shut down to make the repairs and updates needed. The hotel is in a great location and really just needs to be repaired. If it hadn't been neglected for the past 20 years I feel it could be a nice place."
