Barrington Place

"I’ve been living here since June 2023 and my experience has been so far very pleasant. Starting from the application, the leasing office was very helpful and accommodating especially Maria. The place is safe and I like my unit a lot. Maintenance is also responsive whenever I need some help. Will recommend!"

"I lived here from spring of 2022 to fall of 2023. During that time, Barrington Place was managed Village Green (previous) and then Banyan Living (current). Positives: The units are very soundproof (from the other units), newly renovated, and the gym is small but decent for its size. The complex is pet-friendly, with a dog park next to the clubhouse, a dog run on the edge of the property, and dog poo bag dispensers throughout the complex. Management hosts fun monthly social events. The pool is nice, and it’s open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Negatives: The parking situation is a mess. There is not enough parking, so there are always people parked illegally. This was not an issue with the previous management company because they included a carport with every unit. The current management company created a parking shortage by not including a carport with every unit. There is no nearby street parking so this is a major issue. The trash compactor is broken at least once per week and the trash compactor area is very dirty. There’s lots of road noise from Detroit and I-90. If your unit faces I-90, it will never be quiet. I’ve gotten used to the noise but some may really dislike this. Many residents do not clean up after their pets. Inside of the buildings, the carpets in the hallways are stained (presumably with dog pee) despite being cleaned within the past year. Outside of the buildings, there is dog poo everywhere, even when there’s a dog poo bag dispenser nearby. I try to avoid walking on the grass, but there are few sidewalks so that’s not always an option. Whenever I walk my dog, I have to check my shoes for dog poo before reentering my apartment. Since there are few sidewalks, I have to walk my dog on the road around the complex which is not ideal. The dog park is not well-maintained. The gate, dog wash, and dog water fountain are all broken and have been for over a year. There is also a large patch of the dog park which has no grass, so that area turns into a mud pit when it rains or snows."

"I have been apartment hunting from out-of-state and my experience with Barrington Place was refreshing. My interactions with Maria was quite a different experience from the other communities I encountered. Maria was not only willing but more than capable of answering any question I had. She was very responsive and personable in her approach. She was able to accommodate me by providing a virtual tour. Although I did not go with this community, Maria made it an exceptionally hard decision. Any community that has a leasing agent as great as Maria is hard to walk away from. I am glad that we crossed paths. I am sure Maria is a great representation/reflection of the community present at Barrington Place Apartments."
