Venice Park

"OVER 4 MONTHS & SECURITY DEPOSIT HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED! I rented for 2 lease terms starting when it was Advenir @ Monterrey and then when it changed to Venice Park Apartments. It was a decent place to live, not the best but not the worst either and I felt safe enough there. I had a washing machine that didn't work for at least 6 months before they replaced it. I also know 2 neighbors that were dealing with black mold issues for far too long. My main issue is that I still have not received my security deposit back after receiving their final move out statement reflecting I was owed over $1,000 and it has now been over 4 months. The front office was never very helpful and they are not at all helpful in getting my deposit returned either."

"These apartments are alright. It was obvious before move in there was no actual inspection to make sure the apartment was move in ready, shocker. We are in our 3rd month living here and just finally getting things fixed by maintenance that were noted issues at move in. It was also clear that they do not pay for a deep cleaning service before move in, so be ready to clean! There was tons of black mold, dry paint on all glass/windows, roaches at move in (that we now have to pay to take care of), etc. Every other apartment I've lived in will notify you when they will be entering to fix issues, but they don't, incase that bothers you at all."

"Signed my lease without see the apartment. The floor between the living room and bedroom had a noticeable grove in the sub floor. It was a valley about 4 feet long. Felt like I was going through the floor every day. Biggest issue was not that but I moved out in August. It’s now November 3rd and I still don’t have my $1000 damage deposit. I’m told I’ll get it but that it can take 90 days for them to send it back. This place is poorly run. Apartment next door had black mold on the wall we shared from the hurricane. No one mentioned the mold. Found out from the previous tenants. This place is a nightmare!"

"9/7/22 UPDATE: Upon speaking with the new corporate/regional manager, Daniella, I have been assured my deposit check will be taken care of and my money will be returned. She expressed this is not a common occurrence, I can also agree that even with technological advances a mishap is always possible. I appreciate how quickly they are now correcting this. Daniella heard all my concerns and seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. The apartment buildings have been there for years, so it’s a big clean up job that requires a lot effort. The new ownership seems to have the right management in place now to make this a better community. I moved to the other side of the country, but I will definitely drive by next time I visit to glance at the progress. Thank you for hearing me out and making this right. 9/05/2022 If you love feeling like you live in a dumpster fire- this is your dream space. I finally had the luxury of ending my lease, only to receive my deposit returned to me as a false check. I tried to cash it and was told it’s a fake, call the Venice Park office and they still have no explanation from corporate. The place is INFESTED with carpet beetles and German roaches. None of my furniture was salvageable after moving out due to fear of bringing them with me. Pest control constantly shrugged their shoulders at me and said, “there’s nothing more we can do for this, I wish I had something I could just spray and end them all with.” The old office staff were rude and could not care less about anyone that lives there, which would be fine if they had at least been respectful. Maintenance tries, but it’s hard when everyones AC goes out in 90+ degree weather(a more common occurrence than you’d think.) Since Venice Park bought the place they’ve just been painting over the mess, like spraying perfume on a dumpster- it still stinks. I wouldn’t recommend this place to the person I hated most. Here’s to hoping I can at least get my deposit back, I wasted enough money here already."

"If you ever need anything done, Donna is your girl! She has helped me with so many different things, and she has never left me without answers! She's so sweet, and her bubbly personality is incredibly contagious! They're doing great work renovating the units here, they're beautiful. It is definitely the face lift that was needed."
