Ramada by Wyndham Venice Hotel Venezia

"Pros - Quiet clientele, King room was actually a suite, (3) sinks - that was a plus, bed was comfy, 10 minute drive to beach, parking was convenient, Plumbing worked. Lots of mirrors in the suite, but could have used a few more places to hang clothes. Cons - Our room keycards had to be reprogrammed (3) times in 5 days - they say that happens a lot. (pretty inconvenient if you ask me.) Pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance - bummer, that was one of the reasons we booked here - asked for a discount, they said NO. We were free to cancel out reservation and try to find another hotel. Front desk staff and buffet staff, were very unfriendly ( maybe because the guests were unhappy about the pool and hot tub being closed!). Laundry room was provided, but the sign said go to front desk for soap and change. They could sell us soap, but they had no change - really?? they suggested we drive to another laundry mat to get change. The sign in the room said that they would change our towels and sheets every three days, we were there for 5 and they were not changed. Website says free breakfast, but it was actually $12.95 + 18% gratuity per person. Breakfast buffet (eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, toast, yogurt, some days had sausage gravy biscuits) was ok most days, but on the last day everything was cold. We mentioned it to the server and they were not interested. Sofa in the suite was shot. Bathroom could use an update."

"Was there for a wedding over the weekend and the lady who checked me in was extremely rude, I wish I remembered her name. Just all over made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. She didn’t give the welcome basket for my friends wedding and the bride was getting annoyed with her. The rooms were clean but the bed was uncomfortable, no hot water it was lukewarm at best. Most of the wedding guests plus others had the same issue with the water temp. Tub wouldn’t drain and the water pressure was awful. Pool and hot tub was getting fixed and wish hotels would let guests know because it’s one of the reasons for booking. The rest of the staff was friendly and felt safe around the area. I don’t think the price is worth it and having a rude check in experience makes me not want to go back. If it wasn’t for the wedding I would have stayed somewhere else."

"Room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the food in the restaurant was very good. Unfortunately, the hotel overall needs to be updated. There is rust on the doorframes and wherever there is metal. Our heater/air conditioner did not work (desk was notified) but not fixed, and the door did not close correctly. We had to be sure we slammed it shut, otherwise you could push it open even though it was locked. Location was good, and staff was very pleasant."

"It was a nice place considering it's an old hotel. The only complaints I have is paying that much a night my bed should have been made and fresh towels everyday would have been nice especially since I pay for that without asking. The king bed I had was an old mattress and when you moved anyway the bed made a horrible popping sound. And only three pillows for a king bed was not enough. Other than that it was a great stay"

"We stayed here (again) due to the friendliness of the staff as well as the pool and outside bar. Service there as well as at the front desk was great. The room was nice--with new flooring, good furniture, and nice linens (except for the very basic towels), but lamps, electrical outlets and doors/curtains need a bit of a spruce up--all worked and it was ok, but it made me think I wasn't staying in as nice a hotel as I was!"
