"This is the third time we've rented canoes and kayaks at Ray's Canoe Hideaway. Very competitive rates. It's about an hour paddle towards the east and another hour back. Very low key and quiet section of the upper Manatee River. Bring a water bottle, wear a hat/sunglasses and wear shoes that can get wet."

"Great place to spend the day. Best kayaking in the Tampa Bay area. Old Florida at its finest. Owners are friendly and knowledgeable. Bring your camera because the wildlife and scenery is fantastic. Shaded most of the way up the calm river, with plenty of places to picnic. You can even paddle up to Rye park."
