Florida Blue Center - Sanitas Apopka

"Wish I could give less than 1 star. I first went into the Apopka Sanitas office as a walk-in for an ear infection, arrived right when they opened. I am 8 months pregnant and in a lot of pain. Although the receptionist was very friendly, she immediately got up and left the front desk to talk to “the provider”. When she came back, I was told that they had no more walk-in appointments available that day (which would have been in the system and not known by the provider, no?), even though they had JUST opened and literally no other patients were there. They sent me over to the Ocoee office, where I got in quickly as a walk-in while there were 15 other people waiting. However, my care there was not satisfactory and my pain worsened, a story for a different review. Two days later, I make an appointment at the Apopka office for a primary visit to recheck my issue and get a different course of treatment. My appointment was right at opening time, 9 am, and I got there early. Doors locked. Let in at 9 and the receptionist immediately says she will be right back — I did not get checked in or even asked my name or if I had an appointment. Receptionist was gone for 10 minutes. When she came back, she was with a medical assistant who explained to me that the Nurse Practitioner providing care there was uncomfortable seeing me because of the fact that I am pregnant. What? They told me to either go back to Ocoee or go to the ER. I ended up going to the hospital ER to get appropriate care as a desperate pregnant woman in pain. Twice I was turned away from this office for reasons that did not make a whole lot of sense and it definitely skewed my opinions of this medical center — very sketchy in my opinion."

"Dr. Angel, Diana and the front desk assistants are AMAZING. My first response was how clean and pristine the facility is. Dr. Angel was very thorough, yet concise in her treatment during each visit. I recommend visiting Sanitas for Florida Blue members, and they also have Florida Blue specialists always on site to answer specific questions about your insurance!"

"If you value your time, don’t bother. Sanitas overall does not have it together. I had an appointment with the Apopka office today (with hopes of it being a little better than the Ocoee office). I haven’t even gotten there yet and it’s already been nothing but a headache. First off all, they have the wrong address on the website where you confirm your appointment. Then, I had a hard time getting a hold of a person to let them know that I was running late and was told that there was someone scheduled right behind me so they won’t be able to see me today. Needless to say I’m not best pleased with Sanitas as a group. I’m unimpressed by their service and lack of knowledge and organization. Poor, poor, poor."

"Angel and Melinda were just fabulous, both were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and most importantly, in my opinion at least, funny in their assessments- But only in the best of ways. I'm not gonna lie, I take very poor care of myself, specifically my asthma, but their approach was very appreciated. I didn't catch the name of the girl at the front desk unfortunately but she was also super awesome. Very informative, and very helpful. But the thing I appreciated the most was their attitudes. All three of them seemed very happy with what they do, and that's just so rare in 2023. All three wore smiles and were just overall pleasant. So, even though I went in with a serious concern, I left feeling confident with our, for lack of a better term, game plan. I really appreciated you guys! Thank you for turning something so unpleasant into a good experience for me. (Because, like most people, I loathe going to the doctor)"
