Los Compadres Mexican Grill

"This little restaurant has lots of possibilities. It looked very interesting from the outside so I decided to stop in and try it out on the way home. I came at an unusual time I guess. It was around 3:00 I believe. There was one other couple inside. The restaurant is very charming. Decorated nicely but not overdone. When I came in there was no one at the front to seat me but soon someone arrived. Gave me a strange look and then walked to a table without speaking to me, put the menu down, then turned around and walked away without speaking to me. No smile and no speech. A very strange way to greet someone. So then I didn't know what to expect. My waitress showed up and she also did not seem particularly happy or talkative. I saw one other person review his waiter saying that the waiter was wonderful. Had me wondering what was going on at first. So I ordered the chili rellenos and a draft dos Equis beer. Also decided to get some guacamole with the meal. The meal came with beans and rice. Chips and salsa also came before the meal. Portions were rather small but I guess that is to be expected with the price of food nowadays. The chile rellenos were delicious. One was not spicy and the other one surprisingly was. I can't complain at all about the taste of the food. It was very good. My meal came to almost exactly $30. Around the end of the meal my waitress was starting to cheer up. I would like to see how this restaurant does at night. It has a lovely festive layout. Overall I would say I recommend it and I'm guessing my particular experience was unusual."

"First time at Los Compadres and I was beyond impressed with our waiter Nathan. This young man has the right attitude and personality for the food service industry. Food was delicious and service was the best I’ve had in years. Fresh guacamole was awesome as well as the in house sangria. My wife had a hard shell taco meal and I went with the super burrito. Both of us left more than satisfied. Highly recommend Los Compadres!! If I’m ever back in Inverness, I’ll definitely revisit."

"Thought I would give this place a try. First entree sent back because it was too salty to eat. Second entree better but a chicken quesadilla shouldn't have grease running out of it. On top of that two unruly children were running around screaming and throwing things and neither the parents or staff did anything about it. Just awful."

"This is absolutely the most delicious Mexican food in Citrus County!! I got the Birria Mexican Street Tacos.. so fantastic!! Shredded Beef with melted cheese, cilantro and onions that comes with a dipping sauce that is out of this world!! My Daughter got the Super Burrito, It was gigantic, so flavorful and delicious!! The Soft Taco, Rice and Beans on the children's menu was perfect for my 3-year-old granddaughter!! The normal Salsa that comes with the crispy chips is so flavorful but not too spicy that it burns your mouth, the Green Salsa is served warm and it's a little spicier, which is perfection for me!! We can't say enough good stuff about this place!!! Service was impeccable, everything was clean and this was a perfect visit!!!"
