"I had high hopes for this place four years ago when I moved in, but I've just moved to MICHIGAN . . . in what began as an effort to get out of this apartment complex. The facilities are old and cramped, but it's the management that is the problem -- she's unhappy and seems to want to make everybody else that way also. Admittedly, the notices on the doors improved when I mentioned that they appeared to have been written for kindergarteners, but it still felt like living in a college dorm with patronizing authoritarians."

"I found out about this hidden gem of a complex from my friend several years ago. I was looking to move and was asking everyone I knew who rented if they were happy with their arrangements. My pal Amy said, “you will never guess where I live... In a retirement village!” She could not stop raving about her place so I decided to call the manager Jane and, with my friend’s referral, I was able to secure a tour. I saw one apartment and thought it was nice, and then Jane said, “let me show you another one.” As soon as I walked in, I knew it was for me! Beautiful, sweeping views of Tanglewood and the mountains, plenty of trees, gorgeous large windows, a sweet balcony and old-fashioned parquet floors. Plus, I would be living right next to Jane! I was moving from a split house in SouthWest and there were young kids who had parties living right above me... what more could I ask for! If I could have purchased my apartment I would have never left. I was looking to finally buy a home and it was with great regret that I moved from this awesome complex. Jane, George and Matt really took care of me the whole time I lived there. And the neighbors were just grand, friendly and with good manners. The pool in the summertime is the place to be! This was the one apartment that I really was heartbroken to move from (and I’ve lived in plenty in my lifetime) and I will always remember the two wonderful years that I lived there. Every time I walked through the door I knew I was HOME. If you are a cool, fun and/or decent person, please do not hesitate to live here!"

We really appreciate the attention paid to the exterior, the grounds and maintenance to our apartment. "I lived here seven years until I bought a house. Well run and well maintained. Generous sized rooms. East has place for washer and dryer. West has common laundry in each building. Nice people and staff. Reasonable rent and economical utilities. Three floors. 1,2 and 3 bdrm. 150 apartments. Feel welcomed."

"This is the best kept secret find in the Roanoke area. The rental cost is comparatively low. The staff is helpful, friendly and great about addressing tenants needs.The campus is beautifully kept. The apartments built in the 60s are not cookie- cutter like so many are in the area. I love the mid century, retro look inside with lots of large windows and other cool accents. People who come here stay. Turnover is low. I’ve been here 3 years and plan on this being my permenant home. Plenty of tenants, young and old, have been here for decades.
