Days Inn by Wyndham Roanoke Near I-81

"The only reason they get 2 stars is because it was clean and they had no reports of bed bugs! However there are so many things wrong with this place! Our first room had no heat/AC working in the room, the tub was splattered with something sticky that didn't wipe off. We moved to another room in which we noticed that someone had broken something in the outlet, the faucet was not attached to the sink so you had to hold it to use it. The outlet near the TV has far too many things plugged into it to be considered "safe". Other things that were just gross are they painted over bugs and stuff during their "remodel"."

"Not impressed with the handicapped rooms. No walk-in shower. Hand rails at toilet too high and rails in bathtub too low. Toilet leaking in the back. Needed toilet paper - husband went to front desk to get and they didn't have any. Said they would have delivered to room and it took an hour for them to deliver. Would not recommend staying at this location."

"After staying here for all the weekends of October, I can give an honest review. This is the cheapest okayest hotel. It is not the best, but definitely not the worst. I think all of the bad reviews stem from the outside building of the Days Inn. I personally had no issues with smell or dirtiness on the inside of the building. Those seem to be the best rooms. The outside rooms are the WORST. The smell is so bad due to people smoking cigarettes in their room. The back side of the outside building is for people to smoke in their rooms. The circulation of air in the outside building is atrocious and you can smell anything coming from the other rooms. I couldn’t even wake up and stay in my hotel before I went to work. Other than that, the room was clean. One negative thing I experienced is being a solo traveler and being assigned a “conjoined” room. The cleaning people didn’t even bother putting the bolt through the door to the other room, so I freaked out my neighbor by messing with the door trying to bolt my side of the door. VERY unsafe. Which means my neighbor could come into my room from their side and they were possibly in my room before I walked in. Personally I would never stay here again; the only reason I stayed here was that my preferred hotel was booked for the whole month of October."

"The staff was nice and accommodating. The outdoor pool worked and was in good repair. Our room was clean. There was a problem with the bathroom door being hard two latch, but I forgot to report that. Maybe no one else has, either. This is a good place to stop on your way, or if you are sight-seeing in the area."
