Red Roof Inn Chester

"The management does not care about these reviews. I did not read these before I stayed there but wish I had. I had a similar experience that other guests had as to where the room was in shambles and I this has got to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Many marks on the wall j side the door and throughout the entire room. The smoke detector was off the wall and in one of the dresser drawers. The mini fridge had obviously not been cleaned and neither had the shower. Molding in the bathroom was falling off. The remote barely worked and had a rubber band holding it together. The continental breakfast was a joke. By far the worst I've ever seen and I will never stay at this location again."

"Nice and clean. Friendly people. Great parking for our truck and trailer. The hallway does carry voices from the front. Breakfast was only bagels and cereal. Coffee was the worst I every had no wonder why they give you the smallest cup. We just went to Dunkins instead."

"After several hours of driving I decided to call it quits and started looking for a hotel.. Went to the Red Roof Inn in Chester, VA. The lady at the front desk was pleasant and she gave me a room. I checked the room and found that the whole toilet was loose. So, I went back to the desk and told her. She gave me a different room. In this room, most if the lights did not work, so back to the desk again. She gave me another room, and guess what... another loose toilet.. so back to the desk to get a refund... AVOID THIS PLACE"

"When we had arrived the inside where the reception desk looks very nice. The gentleman running the desk was very nice. There was no elevator so we had to carry multiple bags up a flight of stairs. The first room that we were given reeked of cigarette smoke right when you opened the door, even though it was a non-smoking room. The gentleman at the counter was able to get us a new room with no questions asked. When we entered the new next room. The room had a funny odor. The room was dirty. The pillows had stains, the beds had hairs and other black particles. The wall had what looked to be a clump of like earwax. The smoke detector was not even attached to the wall, and I don’t even believe it had a battery in it and It was next to the microwave. The refrigerator was very unstable, and it looked to be black mold on the inside of the refrigerator. The beds were not secured to the wall and were freely moving. The door had a lock that was not working unless you pulled the door all the way up hard and turned the deadbolt. The drawer handle was broken. We had booked this hotel, because it was decently priced and I can see why. After a long travel, we did not want to arrive to a room of this caliber. We immediately got a refund and went to a different hotel room down the road. We packed our bags and got out of there as quick as possible. I would highly recommend do not book this hotel room. It is a complete waste of money. This hotel room is disgusting. The only thing good about this hotel room was the staff."

"I stayed here for a BASS fishing tournament at Osbourne Landing. It was a weekend long event, multiple days. They accommodated me with the ability to plug in my boat to charge my trolling motor batteries every evening. Their parking lot was big enough where parking was not an issue. The lady at the front desk was polite and courtesy to me at all times. Gas stations and resteraunts were all right next door,I could walk to multiple different restaurants without having to use a vehicle. The room was clean and had no odors, and I was amazed at how quiet it was. I was able to sleep all night without any outside disturbances. I will strongly suggest this place to my bass fishing buddies for future tournaments."
