Homewood Suites by Hilton Richmond-Chester

"This is a Hilton. My favorite. A couple of things that are not bad per se. The newly remodeled room was beautiful. The layout seemed awkward. The toilet paper holder was so far from the toilet it was a stretch. I can't see a child able to reach while seated. One of the soft close drawers for the vanity was a bear to open and close. The chair in the room was attractive but very uncomfortable. The nightstands on each side of the bed had plugs in the front for charging, etc. however they were plated in the back so you are not able to plug anything in. The shower head was the absolute best!!!! I am trying to find one like it now for my showers. Breakfast was good with a good variety. The staff was excellent as they always are at Hiltons. Room and common areas were spotless. I will always recommend to anyone to stay at Hiltons. The digital key is fantastic."

"Service was good but my god. The elevator looked like someone threw up all over the door. Someone said this place was renovated? Where? The bedroom door didn’t even have doorknobs. There were roaches in the kitchen and pee stains on the bed. For having the Hilton name, this place is awful. Maybe at $80-90 a night but not $160-200. I’ll never stay in this ghetto hotel again."

"This was an overall terrible experience. My family and I arrived to the hotel around 11:30pm and was just looking to get a quick sleep before getting back on the road. When checkin in the person at the front desk said they had to check the room to which he came back and said the room wasn’t ready was going to upgrade me for free to a larger room. Initially my room was 115 but was told our new room would be on the 3 rd floor. We went up to the third floor and tried the key on every door in the third floor and none opened. We then walked down to the first floor to room 115 which the key worked for and it was a mess. There was garbage bags all over the room no sheets. I went back to the desk and asked for the correct key and room number. The room i booked was a two queen bed room. I thought we were going to be upgraded to the two bedroom suite. Once we got to our room we were given a room with one king bed and a pull out sofa. That was not an upgrade or a larger room than the room with the two queen beds. Overall terrible experience have to walk back and fourth and up and down stairs at midnight was just not ideal."

"The breakfast attendant was very nice and welcoming. The rooms had so many issues. My family and I had an abundance of dead lady bugs in the room, toilet was broken, door was broken, towels and wash clothes were dirty upon entering."

"Amazing renovation. Everything in the rooms are brand new from the paint to the carpets. Curling fans in the bedrooms, air goes down to 60° great shower water gets hot and great water pressure. Staff is nice, parking is good and you feel safe. I’m not sure why they have any negative reviews"
