"I did my undergrad at UMASS Amherst with my husband so we stay at the hotel for nostalgia. However we recently stayed the weekend before thanksgiving and the rooms are stiflingly hot. They would not go below 71.5 degrees Fahrenheit. I felt like I was in a nursing home. This made sleeping pretty miserable. Also for the price of the rooms which is $250 or higher I would expect there to be a restaurant and bar and provide room service. Especially since the room has no mini fridge so you can’t buy cold beverages or sandwiches to keep in your room. They should change one of the banquet floors to a restaurant. Also the walls are paper thin. And the toilets are extremely loud when flushed"

"I was worried by the reviews, but this is a quiet, decent hotel. It is clean (better than the Hilton I recently stayed in for >2x the price), bed is okay. Really need an in room fridge and instructions for the heat/ac. There is supposed to be ice, but I can't find it. There is a water cooler by the elevator that gives cold spring water with the option to add bubbles. I work in higher ed, so being in the student center was fine for me... Couldn't tell I was up on the 5th floor. I'd stay again if I were to come back."

"The hotel is in s student commons building, so instead of walking into a nice hotel lobby, you walk into a busy loud chaotic student filled dining area. The parking is not by the entrance, so food delivery is not an option, which is a problem, since there's no hotel restaurant. Rooms have no TV guide in the TV , no microwave, no mini fridge. You have to request room cleanup, even for longer stays. Breakfast is practically non existent. No hot items, only cereal, muffins, and toast. There were bagels and store bought croissants one day out of 5. 2 of the days they didn't even have coffee during breakfast. Reception is understaffed and manned by college freshmen with 0 hospitality experience, and it shows. They are so shy and not used to working with public that they just shyly mumble words from behind a desk. Every single guest checking in and out had to ask them to repeat themselves constantly, plus they still have that "I'm so over this" attitude. Hotel cuts corners on staff, room furnish, and breakfast, but still charges more per night than a Sheraton/Marriott."

"We stayed over labor day weekend during 2023 move in. This hotel used to be my to go place when I visit kids, but not anymore. The complementary breakfast is non exist. We went down stairs at 9:30 there is nothing left in the pastry shelve and many guest came and left. I ask the only front desk staff who hide in the back room with her cell phone to see if she can refill, she said that is all they have. The check out at 10:30 did not go smoothly as well. No one is at the front desk. We have to leave the keys at the front desk with our name. I finally see the young lady on my way out, I told her another guest and myself left the keys at the desk. She just said "Oh" no eye contact, not sure if she is not happy to work on a labor day weekend, but this certainly not the U Mass hotel that I stayed before. It is a very expensive option in town and as a guest I believe we deserved a better service and treatment."
