Harper's Table

"2023 December 28th Food was disappointing today. Both my husband and I ordered a ribeye for main course. They were medium as requested but the outside was overly charred that they were bitter to taste. Also way too much salt. I think for something priced at $65, that was poorly done. It could have been executed better. We come here quite often and we started to see inconsistency here. Service was excellent and professional as usual. Update* We have been here multiple times. First time I was wowed. The following times were just meh. There were a few times I didn't like the service and the food that much. We decided to come here again Friday night and it was a win again. Service was much better, especially our waitress. I forgot her name but she was amazing. The cocktails were delicious however, I think maybe they could use a tad more alcohol in there. Appetizers and main courses were all amazing. Very well executed. My husband's ribeye was very flavorful and cooked to a perfect medium. We look forward to coming back here again soon. --------------------------------------------------------------------- I usually don't like dessert but their peach crumble with ice cream was yummy. Freshly made and not much added sugar in it. We were looking for a local place for our date nights. This place doesn't disappoint. Love the interior design and the vibe was warm and welcoming. Quiet but not too quiet. Lovely options on the menu. They also have a full bar. I was glad the menu was not filled with deep fried dishes. Hard to find a place that makes their food with fresh wholesome ingredients. Their warm olive was delicious. That was a excellent appetizer with drinks. I ordered shrimp and grits and that's pbly the best one I have ever had. My husband was very happy with his pork entree. Proteins and vegetables are all perfectly done. Well seasoned, so much flavor, aroma, not overly salted, and fresh. We will definitely be back again."

"This was our first time at Harper's Table but it certainly won't be the last. I'm so serious. Everything was awesome! We started with the pork belly biscuit (1000% recommend) and then moved onto the shrimp and grits. We have been to some great restaurants in Charleston that specializes in shrimp and grits and this ranked right up there with those. We also had the hush puppies, cornbread, spinach and potatos gratin. The kitchen staff knows what they are doing! We loved it all. If you're in the downtown Suffolk area, make plans to eat at Harper's Table. If you aren't in the area you need to make plans to get here. The food at Harper's Table will make your trip worthwhile. Also, I have to mention Amanda, the general manager, who was so gracious and friendly. She was fantastic! Brandon was our server. He was extreme knowledgeable and courteous. What a beautiful experience!"

"I went here for dinner for my birthday and it was so lovely. The servers are very nice and helpful if you have any questions about their menu. They are also very accommodating if you need anything modified to a plate you would like to insure full satisfaction. It’s also a very clean and cozy atmosphere. Despite it being on the more expensive side, you definitely get what you’re paying for. Highly recommend."

"Great food and service! A little slow at times, but very good overall, maybe just a busy Saturday night. Pork belly biscuit is a fantastic absolute must-try! Beet and orange salad and 24-month ham very good as well. Cocktails are well-crafted and balanced, just took a long time to get them - bartender looked like she was working as fast as she could, again, seemed like a busy Saturday night. Rockfish and chicken entrees were outstanding - both were cooked perfectly, sweet potato puree with the rockfish was sweet and delicious, while cornbread panzanella with the chicken also shined. Cherry vanilla ice cream for dessert was the best we've ever had! Pistachio cake was fantastic, and a bit lighter on the sweetness if that's what you like. Coffee-caramel cheesecake was a great kicker though - perfectly rich and indulgent."
