“Super old-school in the best possible way. It may be in a hard-done-by part of Norwich's city centre but this pub is an oasis. The beer selection is always excellent and wide. There is something very satisfying about their limited snack menu which consists mainly of pickled eggs, pork pies, and pork scratchings.”

“Great friendly place with really good food - kind of range from Beef stroganoff to spicy curries, all very nice. Plenty of seats although very busy on a Friday and Saturday, you can reserve a table. Plenty of beer chooses with knowledgeable staff. Nothing not to like.”

“We have eaten here twice, it's a lovely little country pub with a friendly atmosphere. Lovely pretty beer garden, you can see that this landlady puts her all into her pub and the staff couldn't be nicer. Great pub food, good portions and very home made. Will visit regularly now we have found you.”

“A lovely restaurant, the food was presented beautifully and tasted excellent. Good value for money. Parking was a bit packed but to be expected from such an excellent restaurant. Did feel a tad rushed with the service at times but the staff were pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere was quite busy and loud but again this is likely due to the quality of service and food. Would recommend to all friends and family.”

“Lovely little room. Clean and tidy. Everything we needed to hand. Unfortunately we stayed on a Monday when the pub itself was closed, but the Tuesday morning we went in for our breakfast. Wow, it was huge, set us up for the day. Lovely friendly people”

“We were recommended the Banningham Crown by our host at a nearby holiday accommodation. It was a good recommendation because the food was delicious and the range of drinks was good. The service was polite but due to the pub being quite busy the service was somewhat uncoordinated at times. Would definitely visit again for food.”

“Booked a room overnight and had a meal in the restaurant. Very friendly and excellent room, clean and comfortable. Best burger I've ever had in a restaurant and excellent service. The breakfast in the morning was also faultless. Definitely recommend”

“We come here all the time, they keep good beer and do great food. The portions are massive and the selection is pretty big. We almost always sit outside, even on cold days as it's often full indoors. Safe space for kids outside with hedge all round. Great to tie in a walk round blickling or a visit to the hall. Best to remain parked in the NT car park rather than try for a space at the pub as it's often full.”
