Travelodge by Wyndham Livonia - Detroit

"Horrible the “Travelodge” is a joke it was a junk motel that they converted into a hotel. We checked in on February 7th for a four night stay. Needless to say we just got into town and put our luggage in the room and tried to go in with an open mind about what the outside looked like, and headed straight to my parents house as we were in town to visit. On the way back we were surprised to see that they have several people living in their motel rooms on the other side of the building. They looked like they had remodeled the interior but our door had been broken into before and it wasn’t closing properly, it locked but there was a gap on the bottom of the door where it bent inwards and had been painted over several times instead of being replaced. We got there late in the evening and decided to address these issues with the room in the morning. Well when I got up in the morning I discovered that we were not the only tenants in our room apparently we had a cockroach in the bathroom. (Video down below) we were not happy with any of this and received a full refund for the night and a refund for the nights that were prepaid in advance on Priceline. It goes to show you that you can not put lipstick on a pig/dump if you don’t address all these problems. I would not recommend staying at this location ever. It should be torn down and replaced instead of the greedy owners turning a profit from unsuspecting customers who think that it’s a hotel stay they are getting instead of a stay at the roach motel. Yuck!"

"I stayed here on December 31st and January 1st and had absolutely no problems. The check-in was easy, the girl at the desk was kind and friendly. I always check rooms to make sure there are no creepy crawlies and there were none. The beds were very comfortable. Fridge was in great condition. the TV was in great condition. the bathtub and shower were excellent. I have no complaints about my stay. Clean, quiet and comfortable"

"I don't know who is making these false reviews. But this place is very very clean. And it does not smell like smoke. And the lady I believe her name was pari. At the front desk she was so nice and so pleasant to me . The parking lot is well secured with plenty of security cameras.. they have a wide variety of breakfast choices.. and the room was under 70.00 bucks.. because I use Expedia ..I will definitely be back.. also they have a tall refrigerator.. I flip the mattress over, I even looked underneath the cloth chairs ..I did not see any bugs !!!..or anything like that.. PS notice that I am a local guide for Google ..not a person with 1or 2 reviews which they are mostly fake...God bless!"

"I stayed here for a week visiting my family. I'm origionally from the area, but live in Vegas. I come home every 6 months and have stayed in various places over the last couple years.I am staying here from now on. Reasonably priced, pet friendly, and they are working their backsides off to upgrade the place. Only "issues" I really had is no microwave in the room, which...whatever, the breakfast is free. As far as structure goes, they can't help that the rooms don't hold heat when it goes from 75 to 28. Just crank the heat up to keep it warm. Rooms are clean, service is on point, and everything is accounted for. They've done a lot with the place, and I can't recommend it for a place to lay your head at night. Room 201 from oct 26-1. "Decent place to stop for the night. Thought we were staying in the main building but that is days Inn. The lodge bedrooms smelled of old smoke but not terrible. Decent for a quick night stay. Seemed safe."
