"Rooms are outdated and in need of multiple repairs. Water pressure is poor. I had dinner in the restaurant which was good and service was good at that time. I went to the restaurant for the free breakfast upon checkout which was 45 minutes before I needed to leave for a meeting and waited 15 minutes to be greeted. I was unable to eat as my food never arrived before I had to leave. The poor waitress seemed to be on her own with about 7 tables with about 15 people total and didn't seem organized enough to be able to handle that many customers at one time. Overall very disappointing for a Marriot that cost $165/night on a Tuesday in February."

"Cold pool definitely not heated and pillow cases with hair had not been changed. Woke up to room cleaner opening my door at 8am when checkout is not until 12"

"This is a fairly tired, old, hotel in need of renovation. I travel a fair amount for work, and this is likely the poorest Marriott property I have stayed in. I have been staying at this particular location for three years in a row now. Each year, the property has degraded. Here are some examples. 1. There is a massive leak in the exercise room with a huge trash can to catch the water. 2. The lighting makes it feel like you are in a dungeon. With the dark Michigan winters, one would think better lighting would be a must. It is old designed lighting with new "green" lights. The luminosity is not the same so the result is dark shadows everywhere. Also, it seems their budgets may be lacking so maybe they just keep extra lights off on purpose. 3. All the lamps in my room a slightly broken in some way except for one. 4. The AC/Heat in the room sounds like it is going to mechanically fail each time it clicks on. 5. The lobby has music but it sounds as though it's hooked up to a radio that cannot quite get a good signal. So the songs are constantly interrupted with static. There are numerous other examples. All are small but all just point to a property that offers the staff more challenges than they can keep up with. For all these inconveniences, I will likely choose another, newer, or more updated property on my next trip."

"I stayed here for a wedding a few months ago and while the accommodations were fine, I accidentally left behind a pair of earrings and a bracelet in my room. I knew exactly where they were left and called and left several voicemails for both housekeeping and the GM, with no response. It seems as though housekeeping took my left behind items as a tip and they and the GM chose to just not deal with it when I called to try to fix the situation. I’m positive I am not the first to forget an item in a room and I will not be the last, and I find it concerning that the hotel staff chooses to ignore these instances rather than help rectify them."

"I stayed at this property during my business travel. The reason I picked it because it's one of my employers' recommended hotel. However, I have a serious concern with this hotel's security and safety of its guest. One day I came back after work to my room and found the room door propped open by the Door Security Guard. It was very obvious and anyone could've just walked into my room and do nasty stuff such as stealing or whatever unimaginable. I was certainly upset and called the front desk and requested for a manager so I could show them what happened. The front desk lady brushed off my request by saying there was no manager available and I have to wait until tomorrow. There was no apology on behalf of the hotel, no additional accommodation was offered. I went on and expressed my concern about the security/safety of continuing to stay in this room. She got annoyed and put me on an infinite hold until I gave up and hung up the phone. I'm seriously concerned about this hotel's safety, security, and also its customer service. I will certainly report this to my employer and have them remove this hotel from its recommendation list. P.S. I reported this incident again to the front desk when I checked out. No manager or anyone from the hotel reached out to me to get more details of the incident or offer apology. I've travelled a lot for work and this is the worst customer service I've experienced so far."
