"Get ready for the extremely unsafe neighborhood, and the homeless people living and using the bathroom in the stairwells/hallways of the towers daily. Prepare to spend every morning waking up to step over somebody else's urine and burnt foil. Also you're gonna have to look past property management spamming you every single morning with irrelevant emails but ignoring your questions/concerns, the constant pest problems (say hi to the roaches in the elevator!) the promise of amenities you won't ever get to use (You apparently can't use the laundry service unless you were living here years ago and signed up then, and the pool is open for maybe a month total out of the year) and the intolerable neighbors blaring music, setting off fireworks from their balconies, and getting in fistfights every other night. Did I mention the random crackheads that knock on my door in the middle of the night yet? There is no security, the gates are open 24/7 and the "secure" doors are almost always propped open with rocks. This property was just moved to Greystar's ownership, and not one of these problems have been addressed, but you can bet rent is increasing anyway! If you have ANY other option, take it. Edited to add: No action has been taken to prevent or address any of these issues. They still happen daily. My emails about these issues to property management have been being ignored for months. Another edit to add: Almost a month after moving out (thank god) they tried to charge me for two extra months of rent and utilities. Then they ignored me multiple times while asking them to review and cancel those charges. When they finally did respond, I was met with excuses and lies. Also still no word about a security deposit, I'm sure they're just praying that I'll forget about that. I am so happy to be gone. This place is disgusting, unsafe, and dirty. The neighbors and property management like to battle over who can be the rudest and pettiest. Choosing this complex was honestly one of the worst decisions I've made in my life. If you're considering moving here: don't. You deserve better."
"They will take your whole security deposit just to update the place after you left! Also there’s so many roaches infested in that property/black widows are in every single house, the office will never try to help you get in contact with the person you need either so good luck on thinking you can contact them no access to the pool all summer on my days off, no access to the gym when I was off work because it was “closed” lol this grey star property is one of the worst properties in the city they just want money."
"DON'T LIVE HERE. The reviews are absolutely true. We moved here in 2021, and we're sorry we recently renewed our lease. Neighbors are loud and disrespectful. I second the experience of 10 people living in an apartment. We live next to one family that uses the hallway as an extension of their apartment and have kids banging on our door and yelling. Loud music blaring at all times of night, and the people who play it are confrontational and rude when you ask them to turn it down. I wouldn't recommend this as a place to live for a cockroach. Staff doesn't care and NEVER answers their email or contact page on their website. They certainly NEVER answer the phone. It wasn't great, but since Greystar came, this place has really gone to the dogs (literally, loud dogs barking ALL THE TIME). They've charged us double more than once on our rent and we had to seek them out at their limited office hours to fix it. God forbid you work those hours and need an alternate form of communication. Also crackheads knocking on the door is absolutely true and they DON'T care. I don't feel safe living here at all, even with our "security system." They haven't fixed their gate system we paid so much money for and if they haven't in two years, I doubt they ever will. They will lie to make it seem like living here is awesome but DO NOT believe the hype. There are fist fights and gun shots heard on property, as well as fireworks all year round. I can't say enough about this place. I'm hugely disappointed. Thank you for making the neighborhood actively worse. The gall to charge MORE on our lease renewal every year when their unsafe and horrible community lowers the value of the neighborhood is ridiculous. I've sat on these complaints for a while and tried time and time again to contact the front office, but it seems they only respond when you make a big stink about it on Google so potential tenants can see. I certainly advise you to NOT rent here, I guess unless you're packing heat to protect yourself. ONE GOOD THING: Maintenance is super nice and awesome. They work hard and do the best they can to get to every problem on the complex, even despite how small the team is for how large the property is and how its falling apart essentially. Our tower has smelled like rot and mold by the elevator for at least two years because of a leak they haven't fixed. Once we complained about seeing black mold under the elevator and sent a picture to management and all they did was turn off the light down there. There's only so much one maintenance crew can do. Do better, Vesty."
"It couldn't be clearer… All the latest reviews about this place are true. I had been living here for the last 3 years because it seemed like a quiet place and the location was right, but I prefer to seek my peace and security elsewhere. This place became hell for everyone. For months I sent emails with multiple questions and queries that were never answered... and when I went to the office they simply asked me that they had not checked the company's main email... I was left with a surprised face... there were 3 people at the desk from the entrance and they simply turned to look at each other... as a mockery?... Obviously there has been staff turnover... they never follow up on people's different cases. I'm not against undocumented people... but it seems like a refuge for them... 10 people live in a one-bedroom apartment... The management knows about all these things... but they simply settle for the rent being paid regardless of the conditions of the place. There are people inside the cars all night… don't they work? I don't know what they do to support themselves... well I do... lol the security is just inside his car playing on his cell phone... he just doesn't care what happens."
"I lived here for a year and the apartment made me physically ill. There was human feces in the stairwell for NINE DAYS. I called maintenance and the front desk every single day in hopes to get it cleaned up and they refused. When they finally did "clean" it up, they got the majority and just spray painted over the rest!!! They didn't even use a mop or anything. There is CONSTANTLY pee in the stairwell and the hallways. The manager is so rude and refused to do anything about everything. Secure entrance? NOPE. They say that they do, but they shut the gate ONCE in the entire year that I lived there. The front door fob didn't work for over 9 months. The door to the basement/bottom floor didn't lock and didn't even have glass on the door for months! The laundry room lock never worked and my stuff got stolen constantly. This area is not the safest either so secure entry is important. I had someone from the city come inspect the apartment and they found mold (amongst other things making people sick) and maintenance said it was "probably just paint." The elevator didn't work for 6+ months. When it finally did work....they started repairs on it weeks later. I asked one of the repair people what was wrong with the elevator this time and he told me that the elevator had been running without all the parts for weeks (so when they said it was "fixed" it didn't have all of the parts and wasn't safe). My neighbor had to get the fire marshal involved. Outside of the danger of living here, they also charged me unexplained fees and blamed it on being "a pool fee, because the water and heat needed for the pool isn't included in rent"......The pool was filled (and not heated) for two months out of the year that I lived here. My water would also turn off CONSTANTLY. I would be washing dishes or showing and the water would just turn off and sometimes wouldn't turn back on until the next day. Again, they blamed this on the pool???? The pool that didn't work and wasn't filled was causing my water to turn off?? My water would turn off about 1-4 times a week for the entire year that I lived there. The maintenance guy also said that it might turn off "because you're on the top floor"......What? Im not sure if this was because of the water not working all the time or not, but the toilet also rarely worked. I wouldn't flush about 1/2 the time that I used it. And sometimes stuff would come up from my sink and tub drains. The maintenance guy said that stuff coming up from the sink and tub weren't related to the toilet though.... but he also didn't have a reason for why this was happening. Other highlights: Maintenance requests take an avg of 2 days to over a week to be resolved or acknowledged. Tenants let their dogs poop and pee on the balcony (a lady two floors down from me had a balcony COVERED in dog poo) Tenants also treated one another and their pets. My neighbor said her dog would kill my cat and she would let it if she saw it on the balcony (some balconies are shared with a divider that's about 2ft from the ground). People are often sleeping in the hallways and stairwells - unsure if they live there or not. heat and AC sometimes work The complex has an agreement with a tow company to come in and tow cars at their wish. My car was towed even though it was registered with the apartment complex. The front office refused to tell me the name of the company so I had to spend the day figuring that out and also had to pay the towing fine and everything that went with that....again, I was registered with the apartment complex. dumpsters overflow constantly the "amenities" are either not clean or not working most of the time. The front desk people hate if you do work, wait for an uber, or are just in the newly remodeled common area/office area. Why promote this and remodel it if you don't want people using it? DO NOT LIVE HERE. YOU WILL GET SICK, THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU, AND SCREW YOU OVER IN ANYWAY POSSIBLE. management, maintenance, the front desk, and company DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AND WILL LET THEIR TENANTS SUFFER."
